Steve believes he will get to Marlena ... Marlena begs Ben and Ciara to hide her ... At Horton house exhausted John wakes up in an armchair. Shawn believes his grandparents got rid of the devil. He now wonders where John was and what Marlena did ... Mardevil feigns fear of 'abusive' John to Ben and Ciara ... Brady has so far resisted temptation to drink. The redhead realizes he has had a hard time, with Kristen wanting to run away with Rachel. He felt torn. She alludes to his love addiction and senses he still loves her. He has cut off all contact with her and now reveals the almost drink also concerns Chloe ... Chloe gushes about the tree her great boyfriend planted. Phil remembers ripping it apart in a jealous rage and claims tis too cold outside. She insists they make a date to check on their tree of love ... He must find Marlena first. Shawn suggests he take Julie's rosary with him ... Ben is so sorry but Ciara bears questions cos John has been away for a while. Mardevil holds up her burnt wrist and accuses hubby of doing it after he came home. She cannot go back! Ben is horrified but Ciara suggests that does not sound like John ... - Brady concedes he and Chloe are not a couple but his feelings ... The redhead reminds him she is seeing Phil ... Phil airily asks whether Chloe has anything big to report. Chloe talks work and wonders what he means. He remembers overhearing Brady agreeing to keep the lovemaking on the conference table a secret, not realizing he was referring to Nicole and EJ. Chloe now brings up Brady, which makes him even more suspicious ... Shawn gets an update on Belle, Doug and Julie being alright but when he turns back he does not see John ... Mardevil blames the aneurysm for making John a violent man. She weeps like a damsel in distress and Ben promises anything. Mardevil steps away to freshen up first. Ciara senses there is more to the story. She cannot imagine John coming after her. All of a sudden John pounds on the door and demands Marlena ... Brady woefully sighs he brushed off Chloe before and now has lost her. He reveals to the redhead that Kristen has jealous insecurities somewhat like Philip when he sees him with Chloe. Phil is all wrong for her! He does not deny wanting the pair to implode. If only Phil were not around ... - Phil stands up. Chloe knows he and Lucas witnessed her walking to the Salem Inn with Brady. Brady told her Lucas accused him and wonders why Phil has been so silent on the subject ... John bangs on the door and growls for doc to open. Ben suggests he go home. John refuses and rages and rants like a lunatic. Ben leaves the chain lock on, slightly opens, and suggests he scram. John bellows he will kill Marlena! Meanwhile real John is collapsed at Horton house, where Shawn finds him on the floor ... Raging Johndevil morphs back into Mardevil and smirks outside Ben and Ciara's door. Mission accomplished ... Brady shares with Maggie Marlena's strange advice to seduce Chloe on the work table. He laments losing the girl again but apologizes for speaking harshly of Maggie's stepson. Maggie loves both guys and wants them both happy. Alas only one can have Chloe ... Phil stands before the hot fireplace and then gets a drink when Chloe states Brady was helping her with her luggage. She was pleasantly surprised he did not confront her. Phil ominously states trust matters ... Belle is relieved John is finally in a hospital bed. He wants to find Marlena, but Dr. Kayla does not agree as the Salem patient needs fluids and rest. Belle is grateful Steve got to him in time ... Steve is with headache Shawn at the nurse's station. Shawn fears who will be in danger from the Mardevil next ... Marlena returns and begs Ben not to call the cops. Ciara suggests family intervene. Alas Eric and Sami around not around and she does not wish to involve Brady and Belle. They must all leave town ... - John credits Steve with saving his life. Kayla smiles nothing would have stopped him not even the devil. She realizes he was right all along about the importance of the tape. The silver fox insists all that matters now is that they defeat the devil for doc ... Marlena acts fearful of John coming after her if she is alone and steps away to give Ben and Ciara time to decide. Ciara holds her necklace and disagrees with departing. Ben feels beholden as she has never asked anything of him. Ciara senses something is strange and suggests they contact Belle or Brady. But Ben is loyal to the woman who made him a better man. Mardevil interrupts ... Chloe has stars in her eyes when she thanks Phil for trusting her. When he hears she must head home to get ready for an early morning meeting at the square, he acts supportive. Inside he secretly seethes, assuming she is sneaking away to see Brady. He vows revenge ... Brady ends a call with Belle and updates Maggie on the horror that has revisited Salem. Marlena is possessed by the devil once more! The redhead whispers oh no ... Man in black Steve pays his Black Patch partner a visit. John would just love some of Kayla's pumpkin pie and emotionally thanks his faithful friends. Steve promises his pal they will find Marlena ... Belle is feeling rather rattled. Shawn apologizes for what he is about to do and proceeds to put out an APB on Marlena.
