Tony is leaving EJ an anxious message as Chad enters the mansion ... In the fog EJ calls out to motha but meets a most angry seemingly undead Ava instead ... Gwen admits her article concerns Paulina. Jack gushes she could scoop the rest. She sighs Chad asked her not to write about Paulina and Chanel. Jack snaps he overstepped but Gwen already agreed ... Silk tie Tony is surprised Chad returned home so soon. He heard about the Sue tragedy and tells brother he came back for EJ ... Sarah insists Xander come clean cos she senses a big secret. He lies about a painkiller addiction lie and she seems to buy it. But then she realizes it sounds like the mafia and that road always leads to Ava Vitali ... EJ knows no one could survive that car fire. Ava produces her pistol, points it and taunts to join her ... Jack is appalled. The talk turns to the tragedy of Susan. EJ suggests if she survived so could Sue ... Tony tells curious Chad that EJ feels responsible for what happened to his motha and shares more details ... Sarah lists the clues including the blue suit. Then she begs the muscle man she loves to come clean ... Chad is appalled that EJ arranged for Tripp to be abducted. Old school Tony states he wanted leverage and believes EJ was trying to give his motha more time. He also wants Chad to swear he will say nothing of this to Stephanie Johnson ... Steph is relieved Bonnie and Tripp are alright. Alex hopes they catch the clown. Maggie admits Sarah has a strange theory that the man in that mask was maybe Xander ... Inexperienced Gwen does not want to open herself to slander. Jack argues Paulina's story is practically public domain, not to mention Chad is on her PR team and reps her best interests. Still Gwen hesitates. Jack praises her hard work and commitment to the craft and now feels even better he did not hire Xander. Gwen soap stares ... Xander acts hurt and babbles about doing his best. He tries to make Sarah feel guilty and has an answer for everything. She decides to find out if his so-called company even has a website ... Ava updates EJ on driving off the cliff to hurt him. He is horrified. She warns he will never find his mother but she escaped before the car blew up. She warns him he will lose his own life next. So begins the struggle ... Gwen is shocked to hear Xander approached Jack for a position but was turned down. Jack concludes he was right about it being best they do not reconnect ... About that ... Much to Xander's surprise Sarah finds the company's website ... Chad feels for EJ and promises to keep his silence. Tony thanks him but wonders where EJ is ... Gwen calls Xander a friend. Jack recalls how much she loved him and worries she will be hurt cos he is married to Sarah. She has accepted his happiness with Sarah and wants the best for her friend. Jack is proud of his girl and she gets emotional. Now he suggests he help her get a slant with the Sloan story. She thanks him and he tells her to call him dad ... - Sarah apologizes for not believing in Xander. He is surprised to see himself listed as VP sales. She will tell mama Maggie how wrong she was and hopes hubby will forgive her ... Chad and Tony are about to hunt for EJ when Rafe calls revealing where he last saw him ... EJ is out cold next to the car wreckage ... Maggie urges Alex not to tell Victor what Sarah suspects Xander did ... Xander plays along with profusely sorry Sarah and suggests they have the leftovers. She is thankful and they hug ... Chad helps EJ up from the bolder he fell on and he complains about his head. Tony comes running and EJ claims Ava tried to off him. Tony and Chad doubt it want to take him to the hospital. He insists they find Ava first ... After Maggie calls it a night Alex gets frisky again but Steph says to slow down and dangles the next date. It works like a charm ... Xander steps out to get ice for the wine Sarah wants to share. She opens the laptop, takes another look at his company's site and is relieved he is not mad at her suspicion ... Xander secretly calls Gwen, who is happy to hear Sarah found the fake website she made. He cannot thank her enough for saving his life. She smiles tis wot friends are for ...
