The devil interrupts Susan telling John of her vision of them being saved, whips out the dagger and warns there will be blood. Sinister music plays ... Paulina seeks forgiveness, which astonishes Chanel. She believes her daughter did better than mama by telling the truth. She apologizes for her harsh reaction and is ready to own her mess. Chanel suspects tis the first time she ever admitted to a mistake. The Paulina does not deny it ... Shawn informs Belle he was unable to stop Julie. Kayla asks Julie what meds the hospital said Doug was given. She shows him a big bottle. Tranquilizers and a high dose at that. Julie blames Marlena ... Steve grills Johnny about anything different he might have seen in Marlena. The young man muses she was different at the crypt when he saw her in the devil costume. Steve gets even more serious ... Susan tries to protect John. Mardevil leers she will make her off him ... Steve is now horrified to hear Marlena was at the crypt visiting Stefano and would not let Johnny enter ... Susan refuses to sin. Mardevil threatens to kill EJ if she does not do her bidding with the dagger ... Julie defiantly declares Doug is staying home, no more Bayview no more Marlena ... - Paulina sighs she planned to tell Lani the truth after Abe was shot but then she saw their beautiful father/daughter bond and covered. Chanel laments her always praising Lani like she liked her more. Paulina argues she did not have the chance to be her mother the way she was with Chanel. They had plenty of precious moments like when 6-year-old Chanel had her tonsils removed and decided she needed Dutch apple ice cream. She remembers she slept in mama's arms all night long and then they had it for breakfast. More mother daughter memories ensue. There were always big hugs and Paulina smiles she was her precious and will always be her baby. They embrace and all is well with the world. At least for some Salemites. Chanel is sorry she made her lose Abe. Paulina shares Olivia’s belief that it was all Marlena's doing. Chanel recalls she suggested she say nothing but then at the ceremony when she stared at her she was unable to stop herself. Paulina looks perturbed ... - Susan implores Mardevil to spare EJ. The devil wants to break Marlena's heart by stopping John's ... The fireplace glows as Shawn and Belle set the table. Shawn senses Doug is afraid of something. Suspicious Steve hears from Johnny that Marlena claimed there was a big rat in the DiMera crypt. Steve makes his own conclusion but does not tell Johnny. He will return to the pub after he checks something out ... Susan gets hysterical. Exhausted John gasps he knows she is worried about EJ but he knows the devil will not go near him ... Mardevil is outside Marlena’s door humming when Paulina taps her on the shoulder and proceeds to blast her for telling Chanel her secret. Mardevil innocently insists she was trying to help her good friends ... - John deduces the devil is simply trying to make Susan a murderer. She apologizes and raises the dagger ... Paulina threatens to make Marlena lose her medical license but she bursts out laughing when she accuses her of a devil may care attitude. She taunts she was not the liar but Paulina was and she has lost Abe and family forever. Paulina stops her when she turns back to open her door and calls her a beech. The devil glares at her with glowing eyes and growls she is the beech. Paulina is horrified by this monster Marlena ... Johnny comes to check on Chanel, who is all packed. Allie agreed to cover at the bakery. She shares her relief that Paulina was not mad at her, cos she can release holy hell when she is ... Mardevil rages to release her arm. Paulina wonders who this thing is. Mardevil hisses to get lost so she does. Mardevil now gets a call from Belle, who informs her the judge ruled against her so Doug is no longer in her care. Matter of fact he is home at Horton house with Julie ... Kayla tells Julie it will take at least 24 hours for the Doug's drugging to disappear. She then calls Steve and leaves him a message about staying with Doug and Julie for Thanksgiving. She hopes he was able to find answers about Marlena ... Susan is rattled by the sound of someone trying to come into the crypt. She fears tis Mardevil but tis really heroic Steve ... - Johnny is pleased Paulina made nice with Chanel and wonders whether she would rather stay and spend Thanksgiving with her mom. Chanel longs for fashionable Italy so off they go ... Paulina calls the police to report something almost impossible to describe ... Back at Horton house the family is sitting around the Thanksgiving table together. Kayla kisses Doug and sits opposite Shawn and Belle. Julie stands and makes a poignant speech, praising all at the table. They and so many more in Salem share their lives, their love. Julie tells Doug how thankful she is for her hero. The darkness is giving way to light. Happy thanksgiving to all. They raise their glasses. Enter Mardevil with her own well wishes ... Steve gets into the crypt and comes face to face with Susan. She is covered in blood with a dagger in her shaky hand ... Julie hisses why is Marlena here! To return Doug to Bayview. Julie declares she is no longer his doctor and rages at her for drugging him.
