Justin and Bonnie are about to enjoy their lavish Kiriakis breakfast when bubbly Maggie announces she found an apartment for Xander and Sarah. Justin and Bonnie warn her Xander lied about his job. Sarah steps in with even more to tell ... Gwen finds Xander's room ransacked with her hero on the floor. She was worried! He has been drowning his sorrows. She yanks him up and becomes his life coach ... - Maggie hears more of Xander's story, how Gwen covered for him. Maggie feels for Xander trying to keep up appearances and defends him to her daughter, who complains his real job was with Ava Vitali. Bonnie and Justin are shocked especially after she reveals to Bonnie that her initial suspicion of Xander being the kidnapper was spot on ... Xander is devastated he lost Sarah. Gwen gives him a pep talk about looking forward to the future. Alas she is not returning his calls and he feels invisible. Gwen, however, sees a silver lining ... Chad apologizes for ruining Alex and Steph's holiday plans by staying and playing video games. The kids come bouncing downstairs and he invites her to join them for ice skating. She agrees and Chad smiles ... Alex blasts Leo, jumps up and starts to get dressed. Sonny is off trying to make things right with Will. That means Sonny might have to kick Leo out ... Sonny wants to talk. Will asks if Leo is still at the mansion. When he hears he is, Will slams the door in his hubby's disheartened face ... Gwen feels Xander should focus on the fact that thus far Sarah said nothing to no one about wot he did ... Justin is appalled to hear how Xander was hired by Ava Vitali, abducted Susan and tied up Bonnie. Sarah admits to mama Maggie he had help from Gwen and would not be surprised if he was cheating with her too. Bonnie is baffled because the same muscular clown came after them both recently. Will opens and notes they are not alone cos Leo is in the picture. He tells him to tell Leo to leave and then the problem will be solved. Sonny reasons he has no place to go. Will argues Leo is a predator and refuses to believe he could change. Sonny, however, has seen the real Leo as Will would if he could see him. Will quips he means if he had not left for L.A. ... Alex accuses cinnamon toothpaste seeking Leo of trying to come between Sonny and Will and orders the shameless flirt out of his room ... Bonnie tells Sarah she saw Xander tied up too. Sarah suggests it was an act to save Xander and she thinks she knows who the second bozo was ... Enter Leo ... Meantime Gwen tries to convince Xander that Sarah will come around again. Xander doubts it but thanks her for trying to make him feel better. He apologizes for dragging her down with his drama and offers to tell dad Jack he made her help him. That way his debt to her at least will have been paid ... - Sonny implores stubborn Will to hear him out. He tells the sad story of Leo regretting ruining things with Craig. He wanted to be a better Leo and asked him for a job. Alex was not interested so Sonny offered to hire him when he came back but Leo refused to accept as he did not want to cause trouble between Sonny and slick Vic. Will suggests he was insincere and Sonny was too naïve to see it. Sonny agrees to get rid of Leo if - after he hears why Sonny made certain choices - Will still wants him gone ... Leo goes silent when Sarah and the gang discuss the second clown. Sarah concludes it was ... Gwen grabs a bottle of booze away from Xander and admits he is attractive when he wallows ... Steph is sitting on a park bench with her skates when Alex finds her. She tells him she rescheduled their meeting and he wonders who she is here with. Here come Chad and the children ... - Sonny agrees to make Leo leave for Will so he will not be upset by his presence. Hubby comes first. Always. Will did not mean to force him. Sonny loves him, wants him happy and suggests a kiss. They come together for their Christmas and New Year kiss ... Xander's new life coach Gwen gives him a pep talk about not giving up on Sarah and makes him imagine. He thanks her with a hug ... Bonnie notes the second clown had no resemblance to Gwen. Justin heard from Rafe said clown was in a bodysuit which means it was Gwen or a fella with a smaller frame. Justin and Gwen wonder what Leo knows. He knows nothing and quips to contact the Ringling Brothers ... The kids are introduced to Alex and Chad apologizes for making Steph miss her meeting. She takes the kids to skate and tells Chad and Alex to catch up. Alex politely points out he and Steph are seeing each other sooooooo. Chad knew that already. Alex is sorry how he sounded. He enjoyed seeing him at Christmas but before he showed up he and Steph were about to make some beautiful music together. Chad did not intend to interrupt but he was feeling blue. Alex adds today was supposed to be a workday but he found Steph with him again - now having family time ... - Will is sorry he left Sonny stranded after he supported his decision to work in L.A. for a while. He gets Sonny needs a new friend but wishes it were someone else ... Leo races to Horton house and tries to warn Gwen but he is out of breath plus she shuts the door on his little foot ... Maggie is alone with Sarah and asks if she loves Xander. She cries she now knows he cannot change and ignores his call. Xander leaves her a message of love. Seconds later a somber Justin and Bonnie arrive at his door ... Will agrees to respect Sonny's new loyalty to Leo and they agree to disagree. Time to make up so they smooch on the sofa ... Chad chuckles about the family time. Alex tries to call him out on his feelings for Steph. She arrives in time to hear Chad insist she is a friend and his boss but that is all. Steph smiles to Chad the kids want to skate with daddy so he departs. She now hisses who the hell does Alex think he is ... Gwen wants to get limping Leo ice. He warns her that Sarah has told everyone what Xander did ... Bonnie punches Xander in the gut and he goes down ... Meanwhile Maggie wonders what comes next for sad medicine woman Sarah.
