He is surprised when Marlena steps out of the elevator and spooks him somewhat. She is sorry for everything. He notes he now believes the devil is real ... Jake comes to Ben and Ciara's place insisting they celebrate with him and Gabi ... Red lipstick Gabi speaks harshly of EJ to Sami ... Allie heard Lucas was confessing to the Horton plaque and probes ... Stylish Chanel suggests she stay home with hubby Johnny and they embrace under the blanket ... Ciara and Ben politely decline the invite. Jake is shocked to hear Mardevil wanted their unborn baby. He wonders why ... John joins Marlena in his black leather jacket. Tripp appreciates them approving of him with Allie and gets going. John holds the woman he loves close ... - Lucas admits to Allie that Sami is having a hard time letting go of EJ. Sami is touched when she promises to have her back always for they are family ... Ben and Ciara are relieved the devil drama is done. Jake wishes the three a wonderful New Year and gets going to Gabi ... Chanel has made tea for Johnny and shirtless hubby is grateful. She decides to take a few days off. Johnny advises her against avoiding Allie. He senses Allie hated losing her to him ... Allie admits to Lucas she cursed Johnny and Chanel's union. He reasons she should not risk losing them ... Samantha Jean has another drink and bawls about EJ again. Gabi gives her a pep talk about choices ... Allie asks about Lucas and Sami but before he can reply Tripp arrives. They have plans to go out and party. Lucas smiles he will be home alone and wishes them a great new Year ... - Chanel updates shirtless Johnny on Paulina's presents that keep coming. Crystal and fine China in return for forgiveness. Chanel flirts but Johnny has a stuffy nose and suggests they see a movie in bed ... Ciara snatches the remote from Ben, who snatches it right back. They are watching Peacock TV. Knock knock! Tis Marlena and John. Ben breathes to come in and hugs. Marlena wishes Ciara a happy new year. Ciara is admittedly uneasy. Ben stands by his woman. Marlena seeks forgiveness. Ben states tis not necessary. Marlena wants to do something so Ciara asks her why the devil was after their baby. Alas she cannot remember anything. There are only a few emotions and fleeting images. She promises Ciara she will share if she remembers. Ben and Ciara still appreciate her encouraging them to have a child. Marlena is proud of the pair. Ben hugs her as Ciara watches ... Gabi offers to keep Sami company tonight. Sami is a superstitious Irish gal who insists Gabi get a New Year's Eve kiss with the right guy, meaning Jake. She admits she will probably cry on her pillow at Marlena's ... - Chanel has issues with Johnny's choice of film but he reasons tis a romance. At the end Chanel cries about the ending of Affair to Remember starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Chanel wants to watch again but glittery Allie and dapper Tripp arrive. Allie admits she overreacted and officially apologizes. She invites them to spend the New Year together and even brought bubbly to toast to their happily ever after. Johnny and Chanel cannot resist. Chanel grabs the bottle with glee. Alas Johnny is a tad under the weather. He admires the fine Italian wine his twin chose, thanks Allie and will see them downstairs after a shower in time for midnight. Strange music plays ... Gabi and Jake stroll through the town square and she gets a text. They are smug as hell that EJ has been given the boot and celebrate with a kiss ... Lucas sees the same text as he drinks alone at the pub. He is pleased he at least got EJ fired and gets up to go, surprised to see Sami. She updates him on Chad's evidence against EJ. They are forever done. Lucas is delighted. She declares she wants to be with him ... John settles Marlena on the sofa and goes in the kitchen for their trademark strawberries and cream. She turns on the TV, which makes the same strange sound as when she was invaded by the devil. She gasps please no. John returns and fixes the TV. He holds her close as they watch the New Year countdown ... At the town square café Jake and Gabi smugly champagne toast to taking over Titan and DiMera. They are Salem's double threat ... Back at the mansion Chanel comes downstairs in her stunning dress ... New Year Countdown begins and ends with Sami smooching with Lucas, Gabi and Jake hungrily kissing, Ben romantically kissing Ciara, John and Marlena's slow motion smooch, Tripp kissing Allie, Chanel sadly sipping her champagne. Upstairs JohnnyDevil looks at the man in the mirror with glowing eyes and gloats Satan still lives in Salem ... BOOM! Luv Cathy |
