Eric stares darkly ...Rafe tries to hide his bitterness behind the beer and promises Jada will get something on EJ. Steve now gets a call from Kayla about finding out Tripp just flew to Salem. She suspects he was after EJ ... EJ starts to lift Nicole but her leg is stuck under a heavy beam. The guys try to move it but then the ceiling starts to come down. Pub Rafe gets a call and tells Steve that Tripp is in the hospital with alive mama Ava ... Tripp coughs and implores his unconscious mom to wake up. She opens her eyes and hugs her safe son. She thanks God she was not too late getting him out of the inferno ... Johnny arrives at the hospital with EJ, who refuses to have his head checked out and races off to find Nicole, whom Sarah is just telling she will be fine. EJ enters and thanks God ... John is sorry for Eric and Nicole. Kristen comes back and notes she heard Nicole is now with EJ. Brady asks after Rachel. Kristen let het have a play date with pal Amanda. Sooty Marlena returns and John hugs her, wondering what happened ... Xander is stunned when Johnny updates him on the bomb that a very alive Ava Vitali planted at the church ... Tripp cannot comprehend why Ava wanted to bomb them all. Rafe arrives with Steve, who is worried about his son's cough. Rafe places Ava under arrest for 5 attempted murders at the very least ... Meanwhile Sarah has stitched up EJ's hard head and leaves the room. He approaches Nicole, who has her arm in a sling and reveals how rattled she was. He suggests she nap and holds her close just as Eric opens the door. Drums play as soap stares are exchanged ... - Marlena updates the gang on Johnny being at the hospital with EJ as John thanks God sweetheart is alright. Kristen coos how sweet they are making up after their spat about her. Brady is bewildered as she blasts his ice queen stepmother for wanting to kick her out. Creepy music plays ... Eric gasps he got here as fast as he could. EJ explains Nicole needs time to heal so he is taking her home with him. Eric is relieved she is alright and sadly leaves as EJ thanks him for coming. Nicole is close to tears ... Johnny updates anxious Xander on Ava Vitali being alive and interrogated at the hospital ... Ava gets sarcastic as Rafe cuffs her to the bed. Coughing Tripp protests. Steve convinces his coughing son to get checked out for smoke inhalation. Alone with Ava, Rafe leers she will be locked up for a looooooong time. She questions that and stares at him with cat eyes ... Kristen makes Brady insist she be allowed to stay with the family for Christmas. The gang say nothing as she coos they will have a wonderful time. She goes and John motions to Marlena to say nothing yet ... Eric woefully tells curious Rafe that EJ is looking after Nicole now. Rafe looks in the window and seems to scoff ... Sarah promises Johnny that both EJ and Nicole will make it. He is grateful and asks about the cake. Xander surprised her on her birthday. Johnny could not help but notice he was creeped out by the news Ava was alive ... Xander creeps into Ava's room and she orders him to help her escape.
