Melinda Trask is at the pub with Sophia and wonders what is on her mind. Sophia is due soon and wants to give up the baby. Trask wonder whether Tate will be coming to their meeting. Meanwhile clueless Tate wakes up and wonders where everyone went ... Johnny and Chanel smooch on the sofa in their new place. She notes they need furniture. Johnny suddenly realizes he has received many messages about his grandad John ooooo - Javi points out firefighting is his past. Leo praises him for saving allergic Sarah. Tate panics when he speaks to Brady who is at the hospital with John. He takes off to be near his ailing grandad. Meanwhile Sophia promises Trask her mom will not pose a problem. Elegant Ami now storms into the pub demanding to know why she is not at school! - Back in Rafe’s kitchen, Gabi panics about Will and Sonny finding out she lost Ari just like that. JJ suggests they check out all her teen daughter's haunts. It might have been about a boy ... Doug gets dressed and Ari grins about getting together again. Alas the Salem Inn is not cheap and Doug has a cash flow problem. She offers to pay but he will not accept money from a girl. She flirts she can come over. He lives over the Brady pub. That would not be a good idea for either. She sighs at least he is single. He confirms he does not have a girlfriend and grins a goofy grin ... When Amy hears her daughter wants former D.A. Trask to rep her with the adoption, she says like HELL oooo ... Leo and Javi walk past Doug’s door, which opens seconds later. Ari hopes to get together again soon. Doug is all for it and gives the girl a long passionate kiss ... - Chanel and Johnny run into Tate at the square. He already saw John, who was bandaged and not responsive. He gets choked up about his dire state. Chanel assures him he will make it ... Gabi cannot believe Ari had a secret hookup but admits to JJ she is boy crazy ... Doug and Ari exit the Salem Inn and she gasps at the sight of cuz Tate and Uncle Johnny chatting. Doug makes himself scarce. Tate heads to the pub to meet Sophia and a lawyer and wishes Chanel and Johnny the best ... Melinda does not want to be the middle woman but agrees to stay. Sophia stands up to her mother about doing the right thing and giving the baby two kind and loving parents. Amy disagrees. Sophia reminds her she is 18 now. Amy will not let up so Melinda warns she might lose her daughter if she is against her ... - Ari sits outside the Salem Inn and sees all the messages from her mother, who comes around the corner with JJ and reads her the riot act. Ari fibs she was with her old soccer friend Cora and talks back. Gabi gasps Sonny and Will would never condone this behavior. Ari snaps she is legal age and can do what she wants. Gabi seeks JJ's support but he cannot get involved in a mother daughter disagreement and says so ... Back at the pub Amy glares daggers at Trask. HOW DARE YOU. Melinda recounts how she was pregnant when young and her mother adopted her baby though she could not see her due to China's one child rule. She was mad when she told her the truth and then the girl tragically died. Sophia is sympathetic. Trask sighs she was too young to be a mother. Her parents raised her daughter to be a successful young woman. She warns Amy the law will side with Sophia and she should not ruin her relationship with her daughter ... Gabi yells about the rules. Here comes Javi, who is sorry he missed the birthday. He blasts Gabi for flipping out on everyone. She is sorry she fired him when she assumed he had forgotten Ari at the airport. He sighs he loves his cuz but alas they cannot work together. He will be seeing Leo again tonight. She protests when her daughter asks to come along cos their discussion is not done! - JJ takes a call. Ari apologizes to her mom and fibs she was at a friend's house. Gabi wonders whether she was with a boy... Doug heads to Rafe's place to ask Leo to help him track Julie's necklace. It's about a girl. He knows Leo gets things done ... Ari and Gabi keep screaming at the square. JJ interrupts with news about John aka Ari's great grandfather ... Johnny has seen John and discusses his bad state with Chanel, who suggest he stay positive. He had been hoping that they could call their son John after him. Chanel smiles when they are ready that will work and they hug ... Amy was moved by Melinda's most personal story. She loves and wants the best for Sophia ... then work calls and she promises to continue the conversation with her daughter at home. Sophia accepts that. Amy hugs her and heads out. Sophia thanks Miss Trask for her help. Melinda has been there. Sophia teases will she be her lawyer and here comes Tate, who says NO. Sophia is stunned to hear about Trask being involved in the abduction of Holly's little brother. Trask still wants to help and hands her biz card to the teen ... - Leo agrees to assist grateful Doug, who leaves as Javi comes back with an announcement. He is applying to the Salem Fire department. Leo is elated and they embrace ... Ari hears that John's situation seems dire and gasps she wants to see him with her mother. Gabi thanks JJ for his help. He will be praying for John. Mother and daughter solemnly depart together ... Johnny snuggles on the sofa with Chanel, who now worries Xander might not be the best person to work for.
