Kayla agrees Tripp and Wendy can use her and Steve's place tonight ... Back at the lavish mansion Johnny wonders what had EJ so mad. He claims it was his car that Gabi sideswiped. The armed guard repeats she must drop her gun. Harris says the same ... - Tripp tells Kayla he and Wendy have a Salem Inn room booked. He asks her to look after his phone and tells her his room number in case of emergency. Done and she wishes him a wonderful night ... Johnny sees Nicole's baby book and asks how she feels. Well. He asks about EJ, who is decidedly delighted about being a dad again. He admits he heard from Nicole that his son still cares for Chanel and seeks an update. Alas Johnny was too late telling her he was interested cos she was with Talia. EJ gives him a pep talk cos the girl who poisoned the biscuits that shut down Chanel's bakery is no match for his DiMera heir ... Chanel and Talia are giggling with their red wine. Talia is glad for the second chance. Chanel kisses her ... Jada kisses Rafe. They are in a good place and smooch up a storm. Then she suggests they head to his place ... ring ring! Time to race to Bayview where there was a shooting ... Ava fears she will not get a fair shake and refuses to go to jail. Harris tries to calm her down but desperate Ava decides to shoot the guard ... - Talia is summoned to the hospital by Kayla. Chanel believes it must be good news about the job. Talia has her doubts. Chanel believes in her and suggests she do the same ... Johnny has decided he is done with love triangles. EJ suggests he fight for the woman he loves. He believes Johnny is best for Chanel, who has impressed him with her biz smarts. She is much better than Ava Vitali! ... Harris reasons there will be backup. Ava fears Rafe will not believe her. Harris asks for the gun cos he wants no escalation. The guard still has his gun aimed at her. Ava evantually hands Harris the gun and he bellows at the guard not to move as they make their great escape ... - Woman in red Wendy is glad to see Tripp. He left Kayla his phone so no interruptions tonight. Room service arrives with the steak and champagne and they kiss in bliss ... Johnny is shocked EJ compared his wife Chanel to Ava, that brief ship that passed in the night. EJ has not forgotten she was responsible for his motha's demise. Johnny reminds him she is mentally unstable. EJ tells him to fight for Chanel again ... Talia meets with Dr. Kayla and assumes the board said no. Kayla explains she has been hired on a provisional basis as of tomorrow. Eternally grateful Talia promises not to let her down ... Jada and Rafe are shocked to hear the patient who shot the unconscious bleeding woman at the hospital was Ava ... Fugitives Harris and Ava stop outside to catch their breath and wonder what is going on. Harris suspects the shooter has an accomplice. Anxious Ava refuses to go to the cops. Calm collected Harris agrees and takes her elsewhere ... Rafe puts out an APB on Harris and Ava, who are believed to be armed and dangerous. Jada is at his side. Kayla emerges and admits the victim is not doing well. Rafe is sorry he cannot question her before surgery ... Harris has sneaked himself and Ava into a motel room. He is in full navy seal mode and wonders who would have wanted Ava dead cos it was clearly an attempted hit. Ava knows exactly who is to blame ... - Woman in pink Chanel now gets a visit from Johnny, who has long wanted to say how he feels about her. He dramatically declares he still loves her ... Wendy and Tripp are getting hot and heavy in their Salem Inn room. The champagne suddenly uncorks itself and bubbles over ... Rafe updates Jada on the shot woman not being a real nurse. Jada notices her burner phone with the message 'Why have I not heard from you. Is Ava out of the picture yet' ... Rafe is determined to track that perp. Meantime at the mansion EJ reads about the shooting at Bayview, laughs goodbye Ava and enjoys his drink ... Ava suspects EJ put out the hit on her cos of Susan ... Kayla ends a call about the shooting and wonders how Ava is connected ... but decides not to bother Tripp ... Tripp and Wendy bask in the afterglow ... Chanel is caught off guard by Johnny's declaration. Talia suddenly returns and tells her the good news. The gals hug. Johnny looks like he has been slapped a thousand times and takes off.
