John is on the phone with Marlena, having left his perky pop at his new assisted living abode. He suggests they meet up and go check on Belle together. She agrees but then Paulina rushes in seeking her assistance ... In the mansion EJ ends a loving long distance call with motha. Snarky Gabi arrives with Stefan, who is happy Susan is alive. EJ is sorry Stefan's mother had to leave. He wonders why Dimitri was hell bent on shooting both Gabi and Stefan ... Leo denounces Dimitri for going after Stefan and Gabi with a gun. He takes Jada with him to transfer the recovered creep to a real cell ... Dimitri urges Leo to help him now. Enter slick EJ, who acts indignant about his arrest. Leo wonders what he really wants. EJ smoothly brings up the bylaw that DiMera shares may not be used to vote from prison and suggests he transfer them to his uncle for safekeeping. Dimitri tells him tis too late for he does not have the shares. EJ's eyes widen with suspicion ... - Back at DiMera mansion Stefan reasons EJ could still outvote them by at least one. He and Gabi continue to discuss the balance of power ... Abe believes Paulina deserves better. John suggests another suitor ... Marlena points out Paulina should enjoy the present. It is possible Abe's memory might never return. Paulina cannot pretend the past did not happen. Marlena reminds her Abe does not have those memories so any pressure would not be good for their relationship ... John fibs to Abe he thinks his father would be perfect for Paulina. Abe gets miffed. John calls him jealous ... Dimitri reveals he gave his shares to Stefan and Gabi. EJ demands an explanation. Leo snaps they blackmailed him hence the gun. EJ calls them bastards and excuses himself ... - Stefan worries EJ will align with Kristen so they should make nice. Ruthless Gabi would rather go after her shares ... Leo would not mind a rich life on the run but there is his career as lady whistleblower. Dimitri suggests he decide whom he loves more. All of a sudden Jada and Rafe arrive, ready to arrest and move him ... - Marlena is home with John, who updates her on Belle wanting to be alooooone. They compare notes on Abe and Paulina and realize they both gave them the best advice. The perfect team! They seal the deal with a soapy kiss ... Abe has invited Paulina to the square. She promises no more pressure but he praises her passion. He tenderly takes her hand and invites her to the bistro for dinner tonight for the early bird special. They joke about being a married couple but not old and go on their merry way ... EJ warns Gabi and Stefan they will not oust him and two can play that game! He storms out. Stefan gets an idea ... Leo argues Dimitri is recovering. Jada insists the natural born killer has made a full recovery. Rafe adds after Kayla signs the release they will move him.
