She sits up with a gasp and Salem patient Eli asks what happened ... Salem patient Abe remembers what he heard - Paulina whispering to Lani what have you done. Meanwhile Paulina remembers how TR conned her and then threatened her. Lani arrived, gun drawn, saw Abe on the floor and the fiend raising his hand to strike her mother. Her detective daughter shot him without hesitation ... Commissioner Rafe arrives to question Paulina at the station ... Nicole gushes she was waiting all night to make love and opens her knocking door not to Rafe but to Eric! He apologizes for not calling in advance and came to see how Allie is. Nicole lets him know she is well with her loved ones and feeding the ducks at the park with Henry and Lucas as they speak. Eric softly remembers when they did the same with Holly. Nicole suggests he come back to see the gang this aft but he announces he is departing Salem. Nicole's eyes reflect her sorrow ... Sarah has been taken home by Xander and Maggie but the baby's room is empty ... Paulina updates him on finding Abe unconscious on the floor, how TR raised his arm to strike her. That was when she shot the son of a beech. Rafe shows her a pic of the gun and she agrees she shot him with it. Rafe wonders how she got her hands on Lani's police gun ... - Eli is not surprised Lani had a nightmare about nightmare TR. He asks how the shooting happened. All he knows so far is Paulina confessed ... Steve admits to Abe tis strange Paulina said she shot TR with Lani's gun. Abe's eyes widen ... Paulina claims Lani was about to arrest TR but she snatched her weapon to shoot TR through his wicked heart ... Lani asks Eli to rest and as a detective should not discuss the case. He is worried about her as well as her mom. She kisses him and is so grateful he is alright. After a sweet I love you she leaves for the station. Eli gets a sinking feeling ... Rafe grills Paulina, who points out she was TR's punching bag too many times in the past. Rafe asks if TR resisted arrest or Lani did something. Paulina snaps her daughter did nothing wrong. Rafe wants to help her but would need the truth. She exclaims she shot devil TR and he deserved it. So ends her statement. Rafe leaves with his coffee ... Abe suspiciously wonders how Paulina got Lani's police gun. Steve has no answers and wonders what he heard. Abe admits maybe something significant. Eli enters in his elegant robe and Steve takes his leave. The talk turns to the shooting ... Pretty Lani visits Paulina at the station. She sighs she should be the one sitting in the hot seat ... Eric explains he is leaving Salem and Nicole woefully wonders if she is the reason ... Xander lies to Sarah that Mickey is with Eric at the moment. Maggie reluctantly agrees to give the pair privacy. Sarah hisses Eric is not supposed to know that he is Mickey's father. Xander claims Eric found out he is Mickey's father and agrees it was Nicole who spilled the beans. Lani admits when she saw Abe on the ground and TR raising his hand to her mother she snapped. Paulina warns her life would be ruined whereas she might be able to avoid prison ... When Rafe hears Eric is returning to Africa he acts politely pleasant. But after Eric goes he admits to feeling a tad insecure about his girlfriend's hug with her first love. Nicole insists no need to be jealous and proves it with a kiss ... Maggie tells off Xander for hiding the truth from Sarah about Mickey. He worries he would lose her and needs to come up with a plan. The redhead reasons she already forgave him and Sarah walks in ... - Rafe admits being jealous is part of being in love. Nicole assures him she wants only him and they kiss again. He suggests the bedroom or a shower and she races ahead to the shower ... Xander lies about a work emergency and tells Maggie to enjoy her Scottish breakfast with Sarah. Paulina believes she could claim PTSD caused by TR in the past led her to an act of self-defense. She could convince the judge and jury. She regrets her past weakness. Lani insists she was Ray's victim but left to protect her family. She praises her courage. Paulina blames herself for letting him in again and declares he will not hurt her baby girl. Lani gives her mother a heartfelt hug. But she cannot talk her out of taking the heat ... Abe solemnly states he heard Lani say what have I done ... Eli wonders whether he believes Lani shot terrible TR ... Xander corners Eric at the pub and begs him to help him out but tis too late.
