She heard from Belle that he told the kids about losing Abigail and puts an arm around him ... Rafe is studying photos in his office when Nicole enters. He is stressed about not having a suspect ... Guilt-ridden Lucas remembers what Sami said and puts the ring in his pocket when Kate comes knocking ... EJ and Belle are about to head upstairs when Sami comes a calling. He opens the door and she gives him a dirty look ... Lucas confides in Kate about not finding Abigail's jewelry in his suite and hopes it means he did not do it. He hyperventilates and she tells him to hope. Then he shows her the engagement ring he got Sami and she stares at him ... Sami comes in on her crutches and wonders why Belle is there. EJ explains she is his attorney and Sami assumes he did something questionable again. Belle reveals she is now a temporary resident of DiMera mansion. Sami’s baby blues widen ... Lucas informs curious Kate that Sami went to convince EJ to sign divorces papers. Kate warns him EJ might clear himself by accusing Lucas of being her abductor ... Sami hears all about Shawn but is surprised Belle is bunking down with EJ, who haughtily states they are mo than client and attorney ... Eric is sulking with his sandwich when Roman starts to probe his feelings for Nicole ... Rafe vows to catch the creep who stole Abigail from her kids. Nicole has faith in him. He hears she attended Abe and Paulina's wedding to celebrate life and love. Rafe gazes at her ... Chad told the kids Abigail would always live in their heart and Marlena assures him he was right. He cries he had to tell Charlotte mom was not coming back and admits he is having a tough time himself ... - Rafe is happy for Abe and Paulina. He and Nicole now discuss Lani's last minute reception confession. Rafe suggests she eat with him and opens the bag she brought him. When he hears she already had lunch with Eric, Roman and Kate he stops smiling ... Roman wonders whether Eric and Nicole could work things out now. Eric replies she is engaged to Rafe so Roman quips they are not married yet ... Lucas refuses to look suspicious to Sami by acting worried about what EJ thinks. And today he plans to propose. Kate questions his idea ... Colorful Sami wants to know what EJ means so he states he and Belle became close ... friends. They were here when Chad found Abigail and they drove the kids to John and Marlena. Belle adds Chad is with them chez Marlena and just broke the news to the little ones ... Marlena praises Chad and thanks God his children have him. He feels the same way about them and agrees when she asks to speak to them. John comes out and kisses his sweetheart. The kids are playing with the race car game. Marlena goes in to join them and Chad thanks her again ... Sami feels for Thomas and Charlotte for she knows how it feels to lose a parent. She now whips out the divorce papers for EJ to sign ... - John sits with sad Chad and recalls how he lost Brady's mother Isabella so soon. Chad wonders how to go on. He missed Isabella but kept going for Brady's sake. He now remembers how lucky he was to have her before he said goodbye. Chad sadly states he could never say goodbye ... EJ explains he has too much to do at the moment and the divorce can wait so Sami taunts she is planning to wed Lucas ... again ... Kate worries Lucas is making more bad decisions and compares his feelings for Sami to Phillip's feelings for Chloe that led to dark impulses. Lucas insists he will not snap and cries he could never have hurt Abigail. If he did he would not want to keep living. Kate hugs him as he sobs on her designer shoulder. He begs for her blessing to wed his dream girl and she gives it cos she loves her son ... EJ scoffs Sami is marrying her abductor. She points the finger of EJ instead and the insults fly. Belle defends him and insists he was set up. Sami hisses he got what he deserved ... Roman can see Eric needs to do some soul searching. Rafe is a great guy but not necessarily Nicole's Mr. Right. Eric might regret it later if he does not tell Nicole how he really feels ... Rafe and Nicole agree life can be uncertain. Nicole needs no big wedding plans and Rafe wonders. She flashes back to Kate suggesting her postponing her wedding when Eric became available was a sign. Rafe questions whether she still even wants to wed ... Chad tells John of all his and Abigail's plans. She wanted to fly to Boston that night but agreed on the morning as he wanted. She had said what difference would a day make. But it made a horrible difference. John places a supportive hand on his shoulder and assures him he is not to blame. He asks what their last words to one another were. Chad sobs she said she loved him and he said he loved her. He regrets all the wasted time. John assures him she knew she was his everything ... Sami gets catty and smugly goes after annoyed EJ mutters about her stupidity and signs ... - Marlena returns and updates Chad on Thomas playing with the race cars. Charlotte asked her if it was true about mommy and she told her it was. Then she cried and Marlena comforted her. It worked for a while and she suggests Chad leave them another night - and stay with them. John insists as well and he agrees ... Nicole wonders why Eric is standing in a suit at her door. She tells him tis not the best time. Rafe appears with champagne and they reveal they just tied the knot. Eric congratulates them and goes his woeful way ... Sami gets back to Lucas with her signed papers. He gets down on bended knee and proposes another time. Another time she said yes and admires the ring. They kiss in bliss and she calls him perfect ...
