He cries he should have protected her. Jen insists he is not to blame ... Chad thunders Lucas may have wanted to silence Abigail so that is motive. Kate lies she never told him and besides her son would never harm Abigail. Chad cries who ... Outside the pub Steve is on the phone with Rafe, offering to help bring the killer to justice. Jake comes along and wonders what happened ... Gabi gets upset and refuses to believe but Shin knows Abigail is dead. She was murdered. Gabi is horrified to hear it ... Gwen smoothly states she meant things ended badly between her and Abigail and now the chance to reconcile can never be. Jack wants to believe they would have overcome ... Gabi cries to Li about Abigail being her best friend back in the day and talks history, how they were on the outs and then teamed up to bring down Gwen. Li calls her the yin to her yang. Chad regrets making assumptions about their friendship and regrets believing Gwen's lies that led him to hurt his sweet wife. He smiles but they were happy again and planning another baby. He sobs so sympathetic Jake pats his back ... Tripp tells Ava that Steve has a farewell lunch planned. He talks bad timing cos cousin Abigail was stabbed to death in her own house. Ava is shocked. She asks about suspects. So far there are none ... Gwen is sorry to hear Jack and Jen IDed the body. Jack wanted to and gets upset about the kids losing their mom. Gwen gives him a pep talk about being a wonderful caring papa, a fact which she is sure Abigail knew. She is so sorry for what happened. So so so so sorry ... Jen feels tired at the pub after speaking with Steve so he takes her home. Lucas gets choked up again. They see Kate on their way out. Kate offers her condolences and praises Jen as a mother. Kate sits with Lucas, who is stunned to hear Chad accused her of doing it. Worried Kate cannot help but wonder whether Lucas would have gone so far ... - Jack wants to get back to Jen and tells Gwen to take care. She stops him and cries happy birthday. He looks devastated and departs ... Jake runs into Gabi and starts to berate her about being in Shin's bed these days. She heard he was with Ava so he deduces there is no more to say and will see her at work ... Lucas is hurt his mother considers him a killer. She warns him Chad wondered too so she lied Abigail had no idea he had abducted Sami. That means there was no motive. She notes he was a no show for dinner and he comes clean about not remembering what he did all last night. Kate gasps ... Steve makes a farewell for now toast to Tripp and his son promises to be back soon ... Back at Horton house Jen hears and understands why Jack went to see Gwen. He notes she already knew. Jen wonders how she reacted. He sensed she was verrrry shook up ... Ava solemnly visits Gwen and demands to know whether she did it ... Green dress Gabi comes to the mansion to tell Chad how sorry she is about the terrible tragedy. He thanks her for that. She loved her despite the problems and believed they were in a better place. Now she wants to help him find the son of a beech killer and make them pay ... Kate is aghast to hear how Lucas got drunk and woke up alone with no memory of the night before.
