Ari and Holly wake up and realize the goon left groceries. Ari wants a drink of bottled water but Holly stops her ... Meantime Doug calls Gwen's room. He is relieved she is not there cos he needs that necklace now to save the girls ... Amy marches through the square in her crisp blue dress and calls Sophia. She wonders where she was this morning cos she was sure not in her room. Sophia admits she went to Chicago cos there is a couple who might adopt her baby. Amy snaps since this is the first she has heard of it ... Tate greets Belle, who is a mess about the last minute jury selection. Both believe Johnny was wrongly accused. She vows to go by the book EJ be darned ... EJ looks at the photos of the gun and remembers hearing the shot. It still rattles him it does ... - Sophia reveals she has a new lawyer and they drove down to Chicago together. Amy is miffed and insists on meeting them with her and Tate. Sophia could not reach him as he is at the lake. Mother insists on coming. Sophia refuses since she already ruined one adoption and hangs up. Amy the suddenly not so pious curses ... Sophia takes a deep breath ... Belle asks Tate about Sophia. He admits she has been evasive lately but did not mind him going to the lake. He came back cos Holly did not show up ... Ari doubts the water is poisoned since their captor wants cash from Doug. She calls him stupid. They both wish they could bypass penniless Doug cos they have family with means. Holly wonders if anyone even realized they are missing ... Meanwhile Gabi assumes Ari was miffed about her condom gift. Here comes Leo with the baby. He greets Rafe but complains about jury duty. Rafe offers to look after the little lad but sneaky Leo has it covered ... Meanwhile EJ the great and powerful hates that he cannot even rememba his own shooting ... - When EJ later sweeps into the courtroom Belle gives him a dirty look. The legal eagles are the first ones there. He insists he wanted her for real when they made love. She suggests they stay professional in court. He grudgingly agrees to keep up appearances ... Outside the courtroom Sophia is on a call with hubby demanding the do-nothing drive himself to Chicago and find their daughter. After the call she admires Leo's sleeping baby and sighs one loses control after they grow up. Leo states he is a foster. The mom dropped him off at the firehouse ... Rafe tries to make Gabi feel better. She gushes he is the greatest uncle to Ari. He sips his coffee and suggests mom give Ari some space which means do not head to the lake ... Ari hopes her mom sent Rafe to search for them. Holly tries to be upbeat. Ari eats a snack and suggests she do the same since they must stay strong ... Tate shows up at Doug's door and demands he reveal where Holly is. He knows he is hiding something!!!! - Down at the courthouse Sophia is having fun playing peekaboo with the baby. Leo smiles he liiiikes her. He hopes the baby will be able to get him out of jury duty ... Rafe suggests Gabi call the lake hotel to check if the girls checked in. Alas they did not! Panic sets in ... Ari has very little faith in Doug now. Holly defends him ... Doug tries unsuccessfully to toss out Tate, who now sees the photos of the girls and starts to call the cops. Doug sighs someone sent him the pics of the girls. They are in big trouble ... The courtroom is slowly filling up. Amy sees EJ and he informs her this is the People Vs John Roman DiMera. When he asks if she can be impartial she says no and blames his trigger happy son for ruining things for Sophia. She is excused ,,, Leo munches his snack in the hall and hears from Amy she was dismissed. She wishes him luck and says goodbye to the sweetly smiling baby. She felt a certain bond between them ooooo Back in the courtroom EJ and Belle wait for the next potential juror ... Tis Leo, who is horrified ... Gabi is horrified the girls are missing. Rafe calms her and goes. The hero is now on the case! - Ari hears how the loan sharks wanted money from Doug and regrets she ever got close to him. He did say he owed money ... Tate cannot believe that Doug told no one about the goons threatening Holly and Ari! He wants to call FBI Rafe but Doug warns tis too dangerous. He tried to get money but could not. Tate snaps he should have asked him. He was saving to buy a car and offers to take out that money for the girls ... Leo claims he is too busy looking after the baby. Belle notes there are others living in the Hernandez home. Leo warns he would write about the case. EJ informs him that would not be legal. He asks if he has preconceived notions. He does not and agrees he is impartial. EJ welcomes him to the jury, much to his horror. Belle has no objections. - Ari now has a bad opinion of Doug who lied by omission. Holly worries Tate must think she stood him up. Ari is more worried about their situation ... Tate has sufficient funds to save the girls and insists after they come home, Doug depart Salem forever! Doug agrees ... EJ and Belle are alone again in the courtroom and he complains the judge should have had Chanel arrested after viewing the very damning video. If only he could recall wot really happened that fateful fright night! Belle has an idea that just might help ... - Gabi leaves Ari an anxious message. Leo returns complaining about jury duty. He intended to crack the case as a columnist but cannot make a move now that he is a juror! He then decides there is still something he can do ... Sophia calls Melinda all stressed and updates her on Amy's angry reaction. She starts to panic ... Amy stops Tate at the square and asks if he has heard from Sophia. She is in Chicago meeting a couple about the baby. Mom needs to find her. Alas Tate must go cos his friend is in trouble. He is sorry but will help later. Amy scoffs ... Doug texts the goon he will get the money in an hour and warns him no deal if any harm comes to the girls ... Rafe returns with an update. The girls did not leave Salem. Holly left her car at the square and their bags were in the trunk. Gabi senses the worst. Rafe's eyes flicker ... Meanwhile tough cookie Ari insists to Holly they do something.
