Gwen has a nightmare about Xander denouncing her for hiding Sarah's whereabouts. He calls Sarah the woman he loves and packs his bag. She insists Kristen scared her but the raging Romeo takes off to find his beloved. Gwen mutters don’t leave me in her sleep. Xander wakes her up and she hangs onto him ... Ava lies her miffed mood is cos they are out of espresso. Rafe senses more. She suggests they spend time with Gabi and Jake, then mentions Nicole and Holly too. Rafe would rather be alone and watch TV with her. She agrees. Nicole now calls and she urges him to pick up. Might be impoooooortant. He does and Nicole summons him to Basic Black. Ava acts sweet and supportive but after he has gone she tosses her coffee mug with a war cry ... - Serene Maggie has updated stylish Abigail on Sarah being untraceable but not really missing as per the police. Abigail agrees to use her resources. She asks when she last heard from her daughter ... Gwen fibs she dreamt she was a little girl. The holidays were always a bad time. Xander buys it. They snuggle until he states he must go see Steve and hire him to track Sarah ... Cool dude Steve has his bag packed and apologizes to baby for having to get a head start. Kayla cannot imagine Kristen framed Brady. Steve alludes to DiMera chess moves. Jack and Jen drop by. Steve alludes to leaving Salem on assignment. Dapper Jack declares he and Jen are also departing Salem ... Rafe arrives and rattled Nicole shows him dead Duke ... Ava sweeps up the shattered mug, mad at Nicole. Gwen comes by shivering and stressed. She knows they ought not be seen together but needs help ... Maggie has forwarded Abigail all Sarah's messages. Abigail will get her phone records. The redhead is relieved she is also searching for Philip for Victor and they hug. Abigail is now in charge of the paper for Jack and Jen are Boston bound ... Jen explains to Kayla and Steve they are saving an old Boston paper from going under. Jack reasons Abigail will run the Spectator while they must stay away. Jen adds their Salem absence will temporary. Xander arrives at the door and surprises them all by solemnly seeking a word with Steve ... - Abigail is aware Xander is now with Gwen and says God help him ... Jack and Jen explain they must see Abigail and admit they are leaving. Xander appears hurt. Jack wishes him the best and Jen insists he is sincere. They guy hug and now all is well. Steve and Kayla wish Jack and Jen the best. They leave and Steve suggests Xander just say what the hell he wants. For the P.I. to help him track Sarah ... Ava bitterly complains about Rafe going off to his other woman cos she left a dead body in the office ... Rafe wonders who did it to Duke. Nicole insists it was Sami since only she hates her so much ... Gwen gets why Ava did wot she did and now gets upset about Xander. Ava doubts Kristen would double-cross them but when she hears Xander plans to hire supersleuth Patch, she sighs that is a problem ... Xander gives Steve and Kayla the whole story. Steve suggests Sarah might have made a last-minute decision to move on the day they were supposed to wed. Xander reasons she has not been with Rex and redhead Maggie is worried. Alas Steve must leave town on a case and suggests he try partner John ... Stylish Maggie returns from calling Melissa, Nathan, Mel, none of whom have heard from Sarah. Abigail assures her they will locate her daughter and must leave to see her parents off. Now alone, Maggie opens an old photo album and implores the late Micky to see Sarah safely home ... Back at Horton house Jen insists Jack say goodbye to Gwen even though he is still appalled by her actions ... Xander ends a call and sighs John is not accepting cases until Marlena is better. It seems he must search for Sarah himself ... Ava suggests Gwen be optimistic even if Sarah is found. Gwen sighs Sarah is more beautiful, brainy and betta than her. Ava says to hell with men who cannot appreciate them. Gwen gets an unexpected text from papa Jack, thanks Ava for the support and departs ... - Rafe informs Nicole that Sami left Salem with Lucas. But he will look into whether she did it before she left. Nicole thanks him and turns away to work. Rafe can see she is still rattled but she tells him to go be with Ava. Rafe woefully walks out. Nicole sighs about the sad start to the new year and holds Duke's cowboy head ... Steve gets his leather jacket on. Kaya comes out with her packed suitcase and insists on accompanying him. Steve officially invites her and she officially accepts ... Xander apologizes to Maggie for not finding anyone who could help find Sarah. She smiles Abigail agreed to. They discuss Jack and Jen departing. Xander is relieved he and Jack are alright again but is not so sure about Gwen ... Jack thanks anxious Gwen for coming to Horton house. He lets her know he loves her and she gets emotional. He was reminded by Jen she is his child, which will never change. They share a heartfelt embrace ... Down at the square Rafe has Nicole on his mind. Meanwhile in her office Nicole has Rafe and the desk on her mind ... Angry Ava takes off to do something ... Steve and partner Kayla happily leave for their excellent adventure ... Maggie assures Xander that Abigail will not allow any hard feelings with Gwen to influence her investigation ... Abigail scoffs when she sees Gwen with Jack but assures Jack she will not stand in the way of their father daughter relationship. Gwen is grateful. Abigail hopes one day she will change and they will be in a better place. Jen appears and agrees. Jack does too and asks how it went at the Kiriakis mansion. Abigail admits it went well plus she is now also on the case of missing Sarah Horton. Gwen soap stares ...
