Meanwhile Jack informs Jen the mediator suggested no lawyers. Here comes Chad ... Marlena spies Cat sitting alone at the square and greets her. Cat awaits sis Felicity. She asks about Sidney whom EJ went to see and then wonders whether EJ will be back soon. Marlena hopes not ... Maggie breezes into the bookshop with her book which was about a double widow. Julie wonders where oh where Marlena is ... Marlena warns Cat that EJ's benevolence is fleeting at best. She offers her her old job back cos she is back ... Chad believes a more casual atmosphere without lawyers would be best. Jen and Chad grudgingly agree ... Alas Cat cannot let EJ down. Here comes Felicity. The sisters plan to have ice cream and invite Marlena, who must take a raincheck ... Foster wants to proceed ... - Chad ends a call with lawyer Melinda as Jack and Jen arrive. Madam Mediator welcomes everyone to her office. She wants to keep the conversation civil for the kids’s sake ... Back at the house of Horton Thomas opens up to Jeremy about the anger in the family. He blames himself ... Chad informs Madam Moderator he has always been close to his kids, who need him for their mother was murdered a few years back. Thomas acted out, regretted it and they got closer. He gets choked up and recalls his kids were happy while he worked at the paper and spent all his free time with the kids. Madam Mediator wonders what went wrong. A woman called Cat who was blackmailed by deadly Clyde Weston showed up pretending to be the late Abigail. He blasted her when he discovered the betrayal but forgave her just as Jen was forgiven for her painkiller addiction. Mad Jack declares the meeting is done! - Back at the bookstore the fashionable late Marlena arrives ... Felicity feels for sad Marlena and suggests sister Cat sadly misses Chad ... Jen admits Chad spoke the truth. Jack is miffed he brought that up. Chad insists Jen has been clean for years. He must now explain that he never explained to the children that he and Cat got involved for real. Jack and Jen recall how upset Thomas was when he found out. Then he asked to move to Boston with Jack and Jen. They insisted he stay in Salem but later Thomas saw them together, ran across the road and got hit by a car. Chad reasons Cat had just gotten bad news. He insists the kids always come first. Jen does not buy it ... Thomas admits to Jeremy he never really meant he wanted to go live in Boston with his grandparents ... Jen recalls how Thomas wanted her to be with him in his hospital room instead of Chad and really wanted to move to Boston oooo - Julie gushes Doug would have loved the book she read. The ladies are aware how musical he was. Julie gets emotional about losing him and now having imaginary conversations. Foster has those with his wife and Maggie has them as well. Foster asks Marlena to weigh in. She seems a million miles away and suggests she just listen ... Cat confesses to Felicity she was wondering how Chad's meeting went today. He always seems to be on her mind ... Madam Moderator asks Jack to weigh in. Jack and Jen keep going back to Cat. Chad accuses them of just wanting him to be with their daughter. They deny it and want him to be with the right woman which is not that Cat Green ... Jeremy explains to Thomas what mediation means and tries to be upbeat ... Marlena breathes she should not be here because she is not contributing ... Cat admits to her sis that she and Chad do not seem possible but ice cream does ... - Meanwhile back in mediation the topic turns to Chad's abduction, how they had to get the kids away from the dangerous DiMeras and the children cried after Chad. Jen assures him they just wan the children safe and happy. Chad and Melinda have a proposal. Jack gets annoyed when he hears that name ... Jeremy continues to pep talk Thomas, who decides to give his dad another chance after all ... Chad offers summer visitation for a month every year and even more visits at the house. Jack and Jen offer to drop their suit for custody so long as Chad stays away from Cat. He agrees. They also would like an extra month with the kids. Jen wants Thomas to be able to speak his mind if he wants to stay with them. Chad does not accept that and brings up the little sister. Jen understands. Both sides now agree to all the other terms and hold hands ... - Back at the bookstore Marlena suddenly stands to leave. Maggie and Julie wish she would stay. Alas she is not ready to have discussions about the dearly departed and leaves in tears. Julie feels badly. Maggie concludes tis too soon. Foster assures the ladies she will return. He knows that she read the book ... Jen and Jack are home and update Thomas on the great agreement that included Chad never seeing Cat. Thomas pouts ... Chad comes to the bookstore to give Julie the great news. An agreement was reached… Back at Horton house, however, Thomas is already having doubts about his dad lying about that Cat again ...
