Ava acts surprised when EJ offers his services as her lawyer as she aided and abetted Kristen's great escape. Meanwhile Rafe updates Chad and Abigail on Kristen escaping after the van crashed. Abigail is not impressed. Rafe wants a word alone but Chad insists his wife stay. Rafe suspiciously notes Chad was alone with his sinister sis a long time and wonders what they discussed. She scoffs is he turning her in and he chuckles ... Allie informs Tripp that Sami is being held in remote Wisconsin but Lucas seems to be taking a long time. ... The guard warns Sami her friend must have been stopped or worse. Big bad Pete would kill him. Sami hears a sound and gets her tray ready. Tis Lucas and they embrace. She sobs on his strong shoulder ... - At the hospital Kate ends a call with honey Roman, then wonders how seated Paulina fares. She sighs she came to see John and had a conversation with Abe, who alas doubts he will ever be able to trust her again. Kate is not surprised ... Rafe assures Chad he just wonders whether Kristen let anything slip. Chad testily tells him he warned her not to try and escape and she asked him to fetch a sandwich. She used his phone when he was out and deleted the call info, claiming she was calling Brady. Rafe believes that call was really to her partner in crime ... EJ assures angry Ava her secret is safe with him for he loves and owes his sista. She saved him by telling him about Samantha's affair. Lucas is welcome to her wherever she is ... Sami updates Lucas on Jason warning what Pete would do. She knows not who has been keeping her here. Lucas leers at jackass to start talking and grabs him by the collar like the old days when he used to work for Antony DiMera. He offers protection from his boss. Jason does not trust them. Sami swears she will help him with immunity but still he will not talk ... Ava wonders what EJ's real angle is and eyes him like a feral feline. He reasons if Rafe were aware of her involvement in Kristen's escape he would dump her in a heartbeat and the go after Nicole, hence his vested interest ... - Commiss Rafe demands the phone. Chad hands it over and insists he was not involved. Rafe cordially exits and then texts Ava he is on his way home. When he looks up there stands Nicole ... Diva Kate apologizes for the harsh talk. Paulina suggests she too has made mistakes when trying to hold onto a loved one. She laments losing Lani. Kate softly wonders what led her to give up her daughter ... Jason will not cooperate with Lucas and Sami. Lucas unties his legs from the chair and starts to escort him out. He will be taken to the local police. But before they reach the cabin door he elbows Sami, who collapses and make a run for it while Lucas turns back to save Sami. She clutches her hurt head and shouts to go after the now gone guard ... Stylish Kate decides tis not her biz but Paulina wants to talk and tells her of her abusive controlling husband. Kate can relate for she too had such a husband once upon a time ... - Tripp suggests Marlena might have abducted Sami the way she did John while possessed, for fear of being exposed. Allie teases he now believes in demonic possession ... Sami curses the guard got away. Lucas argues she was more important and now wants to get her outta here. Sami wants to head home and call the local cops from there. He escorts her out of the creepy cabin ... Chad and Abigail wonder who assisted Kristen. Chad suspects EJ the snake ... Ava demands to know what EJ is not telling her. He states she is smart enough to see Rafe and Nicole are still attracted despite their denial. She is not fool but senses he is not saying everything ... Nicole updates curious Rafe on EJ's dinner invite. He asks how serious they are, still no fan of the DiMera. Nicole feels ready to move on from their Halloween fling but Rafe reveals he might not be ... Tripp admits Halloween changed some things. Allie agrees. However, Sami vanished ages before Marlena became repossessed. Tripp wonders then who took Sami ... EJ solemnly states Nicole is helping him move forward post Samantha. He intends to build something solid. He warns Ava that Rafe needs to stay in the dark about wot she did for both their benefit. In addition he wants her to be aware he knows everything that happens in Salem. Strange music plays while Ava watches him walk into the night ... - Nicole reminds Rafe they already agreed to forget! He finds it tough to forget being with her but admits he and Ava did reconcile. He will respect Nicole's wishes and blurts out being with her felt right. She implores him to stop and reminds him they made a deal to forget. Rafe, however, still hears his heart ... Kate has told Paulina her horrible Curtis history, how he beat her because the baby she was carrying was not his. That baby was Lucas, who is good and kind like Lani. Paulina smiles. But then she remembers Ray and how she had to prevent him from taking her away. Kate sighs Curtis took away her other kids and kept them from her until they were fully grown. Paulina is sorry for her suffering. Kate is sorry for judging her and wishes her luck. Paulina thanks her and sighs she will need luck ... Chad calls British butler Harold to bring dinner to their bedroom ... later. He makes moves on his beautiful wife and they passionately kiss ... Ava suspiciously texts now late Rafe ... Rafe is still standing outside the DiMera door when he murmurs he might never be able to overcome. He and Nicole stare dreamily and come close to a kiss ... until EJ steps up and sarcastically wonders what is going on. His eyes reflect his jealous rage ...
