Shawn kisses Belle at the station. She left Paulina alone to catch up with Abe and wants to discuss the Eric drama. She regrets not repping her big brother ... Rafe sits to have coffee with Jada and is surprised she changed her mind. She sighs Eric was upset. Rafe bitterly assumes Nicole is happy but looks horrified when she suggests t'was what she openly wanted ... Johnny blasts EJ for sleeping with Rafe's wife ... She accuses her of not letting anything stand between her and Eric including her baby and Rafe ... Nicole praises EJ for stepping up and excuses herself to the shower. Johnny admits to EJ he only came here since it was Susan's room and apologizes for assuming the worst. EJ brings up Jakarta and hopes he will not change his mind about staying silent ... Shawn supports Belle defending Eric, who suddenly appears with his new lawyer. Smug Sloan ... Abe cordially ends the call and tells Paulina and Chanel City council wants him to hand in his mayoral resignation. Right away due to the way things appear. Chanel blames herself and bolts in tears ... Belle begs bitter Eric to get another lawyer, not vengeful Sloan who is out to get Abe but Eric believed her story about being the victim ... However she will be accusing him of assaulting an officer. Shawn is dismayed that officer was him and he has no say in Trask's decision ... EJ wonders wot changed. He laughs out loud when Nicole nervously suggests all of Salem will assume there are having an affair. She wants to keep up appearances for Holly. EJ insists she and Holly move in for as long as they wish, gossip mongers be danged ... Rafe is glad Jada has an appetite. She is sorry she criticized his wife. They laugh how she was always after Eric and Jada stops herself. Now tis time to make the life she wants ... Rafe sighs Eric and Nicole are never ending. He now gets a call about Eric's long night in lockup ... Shawn hates he might have to testify. Sloan calls Trask cos her new client is Eric Brady. She insists she back off given the great cases she already gave her. Trask officially agrees to drop the charges. Eric is a free man and now invites the lady lawyer who saved his neck for breakfast. He blows off Belle ... Johnny suggests Chanel speak to Sloan but Chanel feels all is lost since Sloan is also trying to destroy her loved ones as well ... Abe suggests he and Paulina weather the storm and looks forward to standing by his woman when she is governor. He calls back City council ready to resign ... but Paulina snatches the phone and snaps he is never stepping down ... - Jada is shocked to hear how Eric lost it. Rafe worries it is just the beginning ... At the square Eric eats like a hungry madman and thanks Sloan again. Nicole comes by and mentions EJ dropping the charges. Sloan sarcastically intros herself to Nicole, whose reputation she already knows ... Belle has reason to believe Eric is in a dark place again, just like when Daniel ... but Shawn believes it is not so bad. Belle vows to keep defending the family from Sloan ... Paulina announces on the phone she will never be governor ... Chanel continues to confide in Johnny on the couch. He regrets not being here to help her and also when Susan lost her life. Chanel had no idea. Johnny notes he dad is also having a hard time ... EJ holds Sue's picture and hears the doorbell. Harold is nowhere to be seen.
