- Chad is sad at Abigail's grave with flowers ... Gwen is setting the Devereaux table as she talks on the telephone with new Kiriakis guest Leo. When she agrees Xander owes her one, Thomas overhears and wonders ... Xander reads the latest about Ava losing her mind and calls it a Xmas miracle. Woman in red Sarah appears and wonders. He teases he meant the miracle would be getting to Doug and Julie's on time as she has been busy with her hair. She gives hubby his own Horton ornament ... Doug matches Julie in red. He hands the love of his life the phone so she too can wish Hope a wonderful Christmas. Hope is far away working with her skating students in Montreal. Julie sighs about Shawn and Belle being in Africa, not to mention Ben and Ciara sailing the world with baby Beau. But they have each other unlike Lani and Eli. She wishes she could see Eli and the twins now. There he stands holding Carver as Jules sleeps in her carriage. Eli wishes his grandma a very Merry Christmas and she emotionally hugs him in happiness. Doug breaks into a knowing smile. She senses something and he admits they planned the surprise. Eli holds the kids on the couch and Julie admires them both. She wonders how Eli manages. He sighs he has learned how to do things on his own ... Xander feels unworthy of a Horton tree ornament ... Chad plans to bring the kids by tomorrow to wish Abigail a Merry Christmas. He is trying hard but misses his beloved more. How he misses her smile, her sweet voice, her nearness and vows to love her until the end of time. He leaves the roses and a gloved hand touches his shoulder. Tis Jen. She hugs him and weeps while they miss Abigail together.
- Pretty apron Gwen ends the call with Mattie. Smart Thomas insists she tell him what she did for Xander. She uses the f word. Favor. Little Thomas would like to know about that favor ... Xander feels unworthy so Sarah tells him some less than above board Horton family history ... Casual Jack enters the living room with Charlotte and heads up to the sitter with Eli and the other tots as Carver cries. Eli comes back down and sighs to Doug and Julie that no one can be a substitute for the twins' mom Lani ... Gwen decides to tell Thomas a fake secret and claims to have helped Xander select Sarah’s Xmas gift. She insists he keep the secret. Jack enters and wonders what is going on ... Maggie comes by in her elegant coat to offer Xander and Sarah a ride to Horton house. She senses something so Sarah shares his hesitation to hang an ornament on the Horton family tree, given his history. The redhead reasons her former Greek mobster hubby did - as he reformed. Now tis Xander's turn. She calls him a hero cos he saved Bonnie from the bad bozo clown ... Julie is sorry for the children. Eli is sorry for Chad since his wife will never come home to the kids ...
- Jen asks how Chad and the children are coping. They are getting by keeping busy as he is with his work. She was happy to hear he was working with Stephanie. She shivers so he gallantly gives her his coat and suggests they get to the family gathering. She whispers her angel a Merry Christmas and they take their tragic leave together ... Back at Horton house Julie gushes the day could not get any better to Eli. Enter Chad and Jen. More smiles ensue ... Gwen claims there was no conspiring. Jack updates her on Eli and the twins coming and suggests they get the party started. He takes Thomas for the ornament hanging as Gwen stays in the kitchen. Meanwhile Sarah insists Xander hang his Horton ornament. He heartily agrees ... Jack asks why Jen did not ask him to pick her up from the airport. She had somewhere to go first. He understands and they hug. Eli and Chad are glad to see one another. Julie gushes to Doug about the family Christmas ... Jen and Jack are soon sitting with Charlotte and Thomas. Jules and Carver are having a nap. Julie hears Gwen is in the kitchen and marches over. Doug jokes now this is Christmas. Gwen gets miffed when Julie questions her British Xmas pudding and puts down the Horton donuts. Julie suggests she show some respect cos she is squatting in the Horton home. Gwen quips to thank her for keeping Jennifer out of the slammer ... Sarah and Xander arrive. Eli welcomes him to the family. Xander is touched and asks after Lani. Eli hopes she will come home soon ... Gwen updates Julie on high Jen running her over. Julie is suspicious of her motives. Gwen denies any ...
- Sarah excuses herself upstairs for a sweater. On the way she sees Thomas and he hopes she will like the gift Xander got her. He lets it slip he heard Gwen on the phone saying Xander owed her ... Gwen emerges and wishes Jen a Merry Christmas. She asks Xander where Sarah is but she is right behind her. Julie announces the trimming of the tree. The gang are led in song by Doug as the ornaments are hung ... Later that night ... Doug and Julie share a sweet moment and a kiss ... Jack romances Jen until she gets a long distance call from JJ ... Gwen sadly stands at the tree alone and sighs at least Xander will have his merry Christmas ... Shirtless Xander is in bed with Sarah and gives her a gift box. She wonders whether Gwen helped him select this since she said so to Thomas, who overheard her saying Xander owed her one. He lies she did help. Sarah opens the box and looks at the lingerie, then gives hubby an accusing look, cos tis clear he lied ... Alone at the tree Chad tells Abigail's ornament t'was the first Xmas Eve without her but he held it together for the kids. He hears her voice agree and then turns, stunned by the vision of his beloved. She assures him death cannot end their love and tells him to be strong. She will forever be with him in their children's faces. She wishes her love Merry Christmas and vanishes. Chad looks up at the angel atop the tree and says Merry Christmas to his love ...
