Belle and Shawn kiss happy anniversary at the station. Ben and Ciara are still under guard at the safehouse. She updates him on Victor and Kate deciding to undeclare Phil dead. Shawn seems surprised by Kate changing her mind ... Roman tries to keep Kate from returning to her room alone to mourn. She states her son is alive ... Phil quips Lucas did a crazy thing but Lucas claims he loves Sami too crazy much to let her return to EJ ... Chanel and Johnny face the music of the fuming folks. They were swept up in the romance of Italy and impulsively wed. EJ calls it a mistake and Paulina and Sami seem to silently agree. EJ brings up Chanel marrying Xander when she assumed he was wealthy and warns his son he controls the money. Paulina points out her daughter needs noooo money from them! EJ advises Johnny to annul ... Lucas reminds Phil how EJ getting his hands on the letter made everything go to hell. But then Sami blamed him instead of EJ, whom she always forgives. He tailed Sami to Gabi's house to stop her from convincing Gabi to let her remain at the mansion cos EJ was there. He flashes back to chloroforming her at the door. It was the start of his scheme ... - Shawn is sorry to say Mardevil momentarily morphed into Steve and stole Marlena's key card. Belle gasps she wanted to get to Jan. Shawn assures her Jan is still in a coma ... Jan recalls her bridal plan with Shawn last year. Mardevil decides she will not wed Shawn, she will sleep with him. Her protégé loves the sound of that but laments he hates her. The devil in doc slyly suggests she can make Shawn want her ... Shawn hugs anxious Belle. She goes to get Brady's charges dropped, promises a sweet celebration after and they exchange a kiss and an I love you ... Kate explains she and Vic decided to withdraw their document declaring Phil dead. She tells Roman she senses her son is alive somewhere. They are interrupted when he gets a text about a delivery. Kate slowly climbs the stairs to her room ... Lucas admits to Phil he hauled Sami to Wisconsin and paid a couple of ex cons to keep her at their cabin, just to stash her away from EJ long enough ... Johnny refuses to annul as Sami stares. EJ stands closer to her and notes Chanel already knows about annulments. Paulina shouts her daughter has her own business unlike his son who plays filmmaker on his phone! Chanel stops her and emotionally explains she has matured from her mistakes. She knows Allie has shared how successful Sweet Bits is. Sami does not deny it. Johnny thunders they are in love and committed but Paulina wonders about unsure Chanel kissing Allie. Sami and EJ look stunned. Sami says whaaaaat? Chanel admits when she and Allie met up again they became close, but concluded they loved one another as friends. Sami wonders whether Allie is aware she and Johnny wed. Not yet but Chanel believes she will be happy and wishes they would give their blessing. Sami concludes she cannot ... - Lucas admits he was close to letting Sami go when he heard EJ was with Nicole. Then she called Allie and he heroically rescued her, only to have her choose EJ again! Kate comes in, cross Philip let Lucas in the room ... Mardevil hands Jan a phone to text Shawn Salem Inn Room 514 from the unknown number. She does and waits with bated breath ... Kate fumes about Philip telling Lucas his whole story. She orders her other son to keep his mouth closed. The brothers agree they would never betray one another - but sometimes good intentions are just that. Intentions ... Sami has concerns about the couple being young and not knowing each other well. She starts to say what marriage means so Johnny berates her and EJ for being the worst role models. Paulina is speechless. EJ looks livid ... Shawn texts back asking who this is. Jan is thrilled, Mardevil replies for her. Shawn reads the invitation to come that he will not regret. Jan waits and worries but Mardevil is confident. Suspicious Shawn takes off to get answers ... Phil and Lucas are informed by stylish Kate how Victor is aware Philip is alive and framed Brady. Phil fears he is livid but Kate insists he loves him and understands tis a tough time. Phil concludes he has cracked up. Lucas wonders about Brady. Kate and Vic took care of everything. Lucas suddenly gets a text summons from Rafe and assures anxious Kate he will say nothing about Philip. The brothers share a hug. Until they meet again ... EJ objects to Johnny's criticisms but Johnny continues to air dirty laundry. Even Chanel cannot stop him. He warns EJ he is welcome to cut him out and storms back to his room to celebrate Christmas Eve with his wife. EJ assumes the parents are on the same page. Paulina refuses to try and control the young couple and plans to apologize for any rudeness. She advises Sami and EJ to do the same so they do not lose their son and departs ... - At the station Lucas is stunned when Belle reveals Rafe wants to discuss Sami's abduction with him ... EJ and Sami are aware they are not perfect. Sami cries she does not want their son to get hurt. EJ realizes he had the wrong reaction threatening to cut him out but their son needs a wakeup call. Sami woefully notes after their wedding the happily ever after did not last forever ... Chanel and Johnny return to their room. She was impressed. He declares he does not give a damn if he gets cut off ... Phil agrees to work hard at the treatment. Victor's jet awaits. Mother and son share an emotional farewell for now and he asks her to thank his father. She goes out first to distract Roman ... Shawn knocks on the door and shouts POLICE! Jan panics. Mardevil orders her to open ... Kate diverts Roman with a smooch at the pub as hooded Philip sneaks out unseen ... Chanel gushes nothing will change her love for Johnny and they kiss. She suggests they start celebrating Christmas Eve. They slip the rings back on one another's fingers. Mr. DiMera tells the new Mrs. DiMera he loves her ... Downstairs EJ recalls he had no delusions. Sami admits she was wrong to trick him into marrying her and regrets the past. But she hit back in hurt because she loved him and still does. She will never give up on them and dares him to let her tear up the divorce papers again. He holds them up and declares no divorce. All he wants is HER. He tears them up himself ... Lucas is horrified to hear that the Wisconsin cops are transferring one of Sami's guards who was apprehended all the way to Salem ...
