Tis real ... John is mad in his hospital bed. Brady wants him to rest but he fears for doc and whoever else the devil is duping ... Mardevil, Ben and Ciara arrive at the cabin. Ciara steps away to the washroom. Mardevil tells Ben she is grateful and grins when he promises she will be safe here ... Victor growls how many times can someone be possessed! Maggie reminds him she is family. The redhead was with Brady heading to a meeting when he heard from his sister. Victor worries about his drinking. Maggie assures him alcohol is not the problem. He assumes his grandson's latest addiction is Chloe Lane ... Phil flashes back to murdering his and Chloe’s little tree of love and wants to explain but she stops him ... Paulina arrives with flowers and gasps then the devil possession tale is true ... Ben knows no one followed them. Marlena sits across staring Ciara, who reasons something is wrong here. Ben worries about the baby. Ciara insists the baby is alright. But she cannot believe the John Black she has known for years was the same man who pounded on the door. The devil remembers morphing into him and condescendingly calls it confusing. She tells the young couple to trust in her. Her hubby is a clear and present danger ... Maggie reminds Vic he meddled and now both Brady and Philip are enamored of Chloe. He made a mess ... - Chloe claims she shares most things but Phil does not. He refuses to go out. He also refuses to risk seeing Victor downstairs. But he agrees to her getting them takeout. After she goes he rages she must have gone to be a tramp with Brady. His father was right about her ... As Abe sips his coffee Lani ignores another call from Tamara. She weeps what to say? Abe spoke to her and she stated she was just trying to help sister Paulina. Lani is less understanding since she betrayed them both. She cries she fell in love with the Carver family but they are not blood! Abe dramatically declares their family bond is the real deal ... Maggie reminds meddling Victor the Kiriakis men are high maintenance and no angels. He cackles he caught the last good woman in Salem. The redhead remains miffed. He deduces both Brady and Phil care for Chloe and assumes Brady gets they have no future. Phil pauses outside the lavish living room, still out of sight. He overhears Maggie sigh Brady believes he would have a future with the songbird if Phil were not in the way. Ooooo - Ciara suggests calling the cops on John. Mardevil protests and points out the police stick together. Ciara believes brother Shawn would help but Mardevil still says no ... Salem patient John laughs when he learns what Paulina called the devil. Paulina laughs too. Alas Mardevil still ruined her life ... Abe tells Lani the story of best friend and partner Roman Brady who suddenly died while digging up dirt on Stefano DiMera. Then John Black came to town and all believed they were the same person. Later it was learned that John the former pawn was not Roman, who later returned. But they still loved their John Black. He announces Lani will always be his daughter and she hugs him, overwhelmed. Abe emotionally shuts his eyes. Family forever ... Sinister music plays as Marlena apologizes for grabbing Ciara's phone. Ben takes her hand, feeling for the fearful wife. Ciara feels running away is a mistake but Ben believes tis Marlena's choice to make. They will call no one. Doc is grateful and he laughs the cell reception is lousy anyway. Ciara has concerns about being somewhere remote while in a pregnant state. Mardevil coos she can take care of her and the baby ... Paulina believes John when he assures her the real Marlena would never have broken doc patient confidentiality. Paulina is still suffering from Satan blowing up her family and fears Abe will never forgive ... Abe smiles Lani is his daughter and those are his grandkids, biology be damned! He is still smarting from the deception but is not going to judge the women harshly. Lani feels for what Paulina suffered but the pain she caused is too great ... Vic loathes Brady loving Chloe again. He hopes he will not go after Philip. Maggie tells him t'was was just talk. Slick Vic sighs about jealousy leading men to darkness. Phil steels himself and steps away, still unseen ... - Choe steps out of the Brady pub with takeout and runs into Brady. He flirts and their eyes lock with longing. She is sympathetic to hear John is upset and worried about Marlena. She decides tis time to get going so he grins they will always have the pub. He now gets a call from little man Tate, who scored at his game ... Paulina laments Lexie being perfect, unlike her. John the sage knows no one is perfect and admits in Stefano's sphere Lexie was sometimes drawn to the dark side. But Abe forgave what weaker men might not. He senses he will forgive Paulina as well. The diva ponders ... Abe suggests Lani's decision to forgive or not is between her and God. When she asks whether he will forgive Paulina, he points out tis between them. She adds and God so he chuckles He will play a part. They have made one another feel better. He hugs his daughter and tells her to take care. She tells her dad to take care too and they emotionally exchange I love yous ... Mardevil momentarily excuses herself. Ben can see his beloved is tense. She wants to call Belle and insists something is off. All of a sudden someone else bangs on the cabin door. Mardevil begs Ben not to open ... Abe and Paulina come face to face at the hospital ... Lani accepts a call from "mom." Meanwhile Maggie is pleased to see Chloe with the takeout. The songbird wonders where oh where Philip went ...
