Kate suggests a happier mood for Roman's birthday and talks cake. Paulina suggests Sweet Bits so Kate goes to buy her boyfriend the perfect cake ... Sonny updates Steph on Alex's antics at the house of Kiriakis with his pickup. The talk turns to Adrienne and Steph sighs she misses her. Kayla talks back and he calls her cranky as he munches on a buddy burger ... Leather jacket John arrives at the pub and casually asks Roman about Orpheus ... Marlena demands answers. Orpheus states the party is about to get started and steps out ... Kate updates Allie on pleading guilty as an accessory after the fact and must do community service. She apologizes for putting Lucas before the others and will always regret it. She breaks down so Allie grabs her stylish grandpa in a hug. All has been forgotten and forgiven ... Sonny hears how obsessed Alex is with Stephanie. Alex reminds him he did say he would meet the right girl and he did ... At home Steve sadly stares into space and wonders where Sweetness is. Enter Stephanie ... Sonny is exasperated. Alex is smitten. Sonny warns he cannot date Stephanie on account of the strict Titan dating policy. Alex says he will quit. Sonny tells him Stephanie is not into him ... Stephanie wonders where Kayla is so Steve lies she had a last minute medical conference with Marlena. Steph assumes tis why Marlena missed her appointment with sad Chad ... John, Abe and Roman discuss Orpheus but John is tight lipped ... Marlena and Kayla move their chairs closer ... Sonny updates protesting Alex on Steph's demand that he stay away. Alex notes tis just day one of their cute meet but Sonny suggests as his employer he respect her wishes. Alex insists she will come around and walks out ... Steph praises papa Steve for keeping his loved one safe and hugs him ... Abe approaches John, sensing he is not saying something. John denies it ... The Sweet Bits girls come back with a cake but there is no Kate ... Paulina wonders where Kate went.
