Suited Abe explains to Steve he was just studying an old press conference of his that interrupted Body and Soul cos he is preparing himself ... Designer Paulina promises distracted Chanel all will be well. Chanel admits she was thinking of Talia, who announced her feelings ... Johnny ends a call outside and tries to excuse himself when Talia comes along. She wants to talk Chanel. He gets impatient. She assures him she would never harm Chanel as he worried ... Paulina worries Talia is not the best choice given the history. Then she wonders how her daughter feels ... Kayla and Marlena are catching up in Marlena's office. Kayla updates her on Abe's plans, which she considers a tad too soon ... Abe admits to Steve he intends to crash the acting mayor's press conference today to announce his return ... Talia suggests they stay civil and gives him her coffee cos she knows he likes it the same way. He thanks her and she goes ... The conversation now turns to Abe and how it is taking so long for his memory to return ... Marlena agrees that Abe going public is too soon. Kayla is very concerned ... Steve sits silently with Abe, who senses his disapproval and points out he needs no permission. Steve is concerned Abe is not quite ready to return to the mayor he was. Gwen opens the door and wonders to whom her hubby was speaking ... - Leo cringes in the closet and listens. Dimitri stammers he was practicing his Icelandic on his ap so he would know how to say he is a happy newlywed. Gullible Gwen asks how to say hubby in Icelandic, then wants to go. Dimitri lies the Icelandic yogurt did not agree with him but insists she enjoy the lava fields without him. She refuses to leave his side and wants to make hubby better ... Paulina comes to see Abe but Steve has a bad feeling about his buddy not being ready. Paulina believes tis a good way for him to remember the man he was. Abe slowly stands and catches him breath. Tis time to take on his arch enemy. Steve worries but wishes him luck ... Johnny comes to Marlena's office for a chat. He is sure he wants Chanel back in his life. However, he is unsure about making a move ... Chanel is stretching, looks at a picture of Paulina and Abe and is about to head out the door for a jog when Talia drops by. She came to take back what she said about her feelings ... Johnny is worried about Chanel trusting Talia again. She leans on him a lot. He recalls how real their romance and marriage was when they were in Italy. But then the devil came to town. Marlena wonders why he has not told Chanel how he feels ... - Chanel is bewildered. Talia would not want to risk their friendship and asks her to forget what she said. Chanel notes she might not want to forget ... Dimitri stammers he wants Gwen to go out and enjoy Iceland. Slick Rawlins is at the square podium to announce his plans for the rest of what he now considers his term. Suited Abe elegantly steps up with Paulina at his side and announces that will not be necessary. The paparazzi snap up a storm. Rawlins condescendingly greets him and suggests he should still be resting. Abe announces effective now he is back to his full duties as mayor and his first act is to re-open his stepdaughter's bakery ... Johnny sighs the timing might not be right for himself and Chanel. Marlena has high praise for the young man and tells him all the matters is him and Chanel, not what others think. He thanks her and gets going to tell the girl how he feels about her ... Chanel tells Talia she did feel something and wanted to be with her. Talia is happy to hear it and wonders what now ... - The smooth talking acting mayor argues that bakery poisoned half the town. Paulina protests. Abe insists he is wrong and demands his resignation by the end of the day. He can perform his duties just fine. Rawlins claims he cannot leave the office in incapable hands and reminds the crowd that he promoted Rafe, who admitted an improper relationship with a subordinate ... Kayla comes home and Steve is sorry to say he could not stop Abe ... Paulina is indignant. Rawlins reminds the crowd how she had planned to tear down the square. In addition she turned a blind eye to her daughter's health hazard of a bakery and dragged her unrecovered husband here for her own agenda. Abe steps up and insists he is fit. Rawlins slyly suggests the press ask questions. The Sweet bits attempt to reopen comes up ... Leo and Dimitri snuggle in the afterglow on Dimitri and Gwen's honeymoon bed. Leo sits up, feeling guilty about Gwen. He cannot continue this way and suggests he head home on a cargo plane. But then the rascals get busy in bed again ... - Chanel uses the s word. Slow. Talia agrees and suggests they hang out. Chanel opens the door and suggests a free concert at the park. Tonight the Japanese taiko drummers will be performing. They agree tis a date and Johnny overhears in the hall. He takes off unseen... Abe is asked many questions but he does not remember. However, he insists he is fit to be mayor. He is asked to name any council members but cannot ... Marlena comes over to update Steve and Kayla on Abe's moment not going as planned. Abe does not remember the councillor's names. She reads the snark on social media ... Bathrobe Dimitri has just bid Leo goodbye. Fully dressed Leo opens the door to leave assuring him he will see him later.
