Ciara gets back to her book and tries to ignore the syrupy gruel that Evan brought. She believes Ben is going to come and rescue her ... Claire is on the phone with Shawn, apologizing for sneaking out to go to Allie last night She assures him she is safe home alone. Suddenly a slamming sound. Ben appears and she breathes a sigh of relief. He apologizes he still had Ciara’s keys and updates her on his dream ... Evan gets sarcastic about Ciara’s fairy tale dreams. She boasts she already connected with Ben on Rhodes’ phone and he must still be searching ... Marlena wants an explanation about John’s disappearing act. She demands they discuss what went down ... Ava laughs she was up early for eggs and made her bed but did sleep there. Rafe apologizes and sits at the breakfast table. Ava wonders what he suspected. That she paid Charlie a visit given he threatened Tripp. She reminds him he did station two cops outside Tripp’s place. He refers to her mafia roots. Ava admits she is partly to blame for Charlie as he did not grow up with her love. Alas Steve’s son Tripp was the only child of her heart. Sadly, she lost Steve and her father took Tripp. She was in bad shape after that and daddy dearest hooked her up with one of his goons. That was when she got pregnant with Charlie. But she was still broken and felt nothing for him. It bothered her ... - John apologizes for the way he took off. Worried doc probes his whereabouts. He was enraged about Charlie’s stunt, how he spun his sinister acts. It made him want to drive all night or at least until he arrived at the creep’s home ... Ben updates Claire on his dream that felt oh so real. Claire suggests it was another dream he and Ciara had at the same time. When he mentions his and Shawn’s discovery, Claire asks him to elaborate ... Ciara taunts Evan is a stranger to true love. He shouts at her to shut up. Orpheus calls and he claims he has everything under control. When he lies Ciara even seems to like him she slams his gruel on the glass wall that separates them. It slowly drips and she smirks in defiance. Orpheus orders his son to send him photos that prove Ciara is still alive. He plans to trade her with Victor in return for his release and more. Evan disagrees ... Claire hears the Rhodes story from Ben, the dead end that resulted ... Marlena asks John what really happened. He was furious but stopped as his head hurt. Then he regained consciousness and saw her messages. She wonders why he said nothing about the incident last night ... Evan demands something in return. Orpheus assures him they can have quality time together after he is released. Evan would prefer to make Ciara pay and boasts he is the man in charge now. Orpheus loses his cool. Evan hangs up. Ciara does the math ... - Ben hears Claire’s scary Charlie story, how he erased her confession. He assumes he was arrested. No but Belle is getting a restraining order. She is sure Charlie will never come near her again ... John assures anxious Marlena he feels better today. She worries there was an aneurism and hauls him to the hospital ... Breakfast is over. Rafe feels sorry for the hell Ava experienced. She admits she hardly wanted to see Charlie, whom her father gave to Jimmy to raise. The tragedy was that Charlie believed he was to blame for her lack of love. She blames herself for the monster he became. Rafe senses her pain and reaches for her hand ... As it turns out Clyde overheard Orpheus insulting someone on the phone and it sounded like a father blasting his son! Clyde suspects it is connected to Ciara ... Ciara is not surprised that Orpheus wants to ransom her, and reasons Evan would get rich. He wants something other than money ... Ben praises Claire for her courage. She just wants justice for Allie and for Ciara to come home. Ben complains there is no new clue. Claire suggests psychic Susan could get a reading from something in Rhodes’ box of belongings ... Rafe talks healing. Ava feels tis too late. Charlie will never forgive her now and nothing will stop him from being a dangerous sociopath. She too is imperfect but plans to make Tripp proud. Rafe gets a call about a police matter. An anonymous caller reported hearing a gunshot at Charlie’s place. He gets his coat and Ava gasps he might have taken his own life. Rafe promises to keep her posted ... - Back at the slammer, Clyde leers at denying Orpheus he is going to get to the bottom of what he is hiding! Meanwhile Ben and Claire rummage through Rhodes’ belongings. Claire opens Alice in Wonderland and Ben realizes in his dream Ciara was clutching Through the Looking Glass. It had the same kind of book cover and he concludes it came from Rhodes' collection ... Ciara dares Evan to shoot her if he wants revenge. He warns not to throw her food again and suggests she read her book. She glances at Alice through the Looking Glass ... At the hospital, John kisses Marlena’s hand and insists he is alright. She goes to check with the doctor. He suddenly remembers the sound of a single gunshot and looks rattled ... Ava holds an old photo of her with baby Charlie and weeps ...
