Theo runs into his uncle’s arms and Abe wonders where he has been. He flashes back to dancing and will only say he has been … around! They head to the waiting room, where friendly Suzie takes Theo to finish building that castle. Cam excuses himself to hand in the reference letter he promised to write. Abe hopes he is not going anywhere as Theo needs stability. He has not been around, hence his concern. Cam exclaims he has been busy working. Abe sternly reminds him he is the only relation the lad has who is not a DiMera and Theo needs him. Cam mysteriously promises that in a month or so he will have more time. Abe insists he tell him what is really going on here! Cam quietly confesses he has a second job to pay off his student loans. Abe questions his ability to doctor if he is overworked and tired. Cam gets testy. Abe reminds him they are family. Cam declares only Theo is his family. He promised Lexie he will look after him. Abe quips but he has no time. He adds that Lexie asked him to look after Cam! Cam retorts he does not need any looking after and walks off. Abe stares. He senses something. Maxine approaches with a polite greeting. Abe pours them both a coffee and shares he is concerned about Cameron. Maxine wisely notes he is proud and feels the pressure to prove himself, since some whisper he is only here because of Lexie. She thinks he will be just fine, however. - At Abigail’s insistence, she and Chad await Anne at the town square, aware of her usual route. She comes along and gushes she is glad to see them, to go over what happened. She stammers she only had one martini that went to her head and thanks Chad for the ride home. She also apologizes to Abigail for believing Chloe the liar. Anne continues to drip with sweetness when she suggests a fresh start. She has been promoted, as it turns out, and has become image conscious. No more involvement in pettiness or backstabbing. Abigail congratulates her on the promotion. Anne departs. Chad thinks she has given up on Cam and Jen. Pretty Abigail hopes so, though she is not without reservations. She decides to join him when he goes to the hospital to pick up Theo, though she clearly wants to see Cam. Before they leave, Chad suddenly stammers he is glad this all happened on some level, as she has seen another side of him. She teases him, then concedes he has actually been helpful and nice. Chad blurts out he is sorry he was insensitive about the whole virgin thing. She starts to get uncomfortable. He babbles he gets uncomfortable around her sometimes. He wonders whether she had a good time with him trying to help Cameron. She sarcastically reminds him she made it worse for Cam. He reminds her they did have some laughs with their teamwork. Abigail remains worried Cam could lose his job and announces they must get to the hospital. She is right, too ... - Nicole the sexy secretary sits in her stylish dress, her hair swept back, complaining about her work. Tattooed Vargas arrives in his undershirt and flirts. She insists she is unhappily busy so he exits with a grin. Nicole admires the view and sighs. The Vargman soon returns in a plaid shirt with a big bag of food. Nicole is interested but is in the midst of a mail merge. He settles down beside her and offers to help. She marvels he is a man of many talents. He now offers her some sushi and she blushes. They chow down together. Nicole complains about having to stay up all night to do the work. She suggests she is wasting his time here but he drawls time with her is never wasted, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. - Brady wants Maggie to enlighten him. Did everyone get the same jersey? Maggie explains they did and that was the day she realized John had deep and real feelings for Kristen. Brady grumbles John must have saved it over the years and just got it out of storage. Maggie thinks she knows why. He recently gave Brady a gift that was a reminder of the time when things were amiable between them. He might be doing the same with Kristen. Brady questions his desire to be amiable with his fiancée, cuts her off, and thanks her for bringing Kristen’s scarf. Maggie asks him to take care and departs in her blue suit. - Suave John pauses at the town gate, glances at a picture of himself with Kristen, and recalls the day he gave her the jersey. She was happy then. He purses his lips and walks away, to continue his plan. Meanwhile, Kristen realizes she needs to find the picture Brady lost or it is over! She goes outside and takes out her phone. She calls Brady and immediately fears the worst when he answers with an impatient greeting. He has a business deal on his mind. She did not find the missing envelope and learns he showed it to Marlena at the coffee house. Brady assumed he had put everything in his briefcase. Kristen graciously offers to venture to the coffee house to check and will see him soon. She is on her way! - At the coffee house, pretty in pink Ciara is staring at the picture of Kristen paying the mugger. Pretty in pink Hope sits across from her and airily wonders what she has there. The little girl puts the picture back in the envelope, shoves it in her pink backpack and claims it is nothing, just stuff she found. Hope hopes she is not hiding anything! Ciara announces he has a surprise for daddy and he must see it before anyone else or it will not be such a surprise. She plans to send it to him but Hope gushes she just spoke to daddy and has good news. His work is done and he is coming home soon! Ciara is tickled even more pink and suggests they go tell Caroline. They depart, just in the nick of time! Moments later, Kristen slithers in asks the barista about the envelope. The brunette barista thinks she saw in the trash. Kristen is now reduced to searching in the dumpster outside with a stick. Not very glamorous! The brunette barista soon appears and informs her the garbage truck, it seems, already came and went. Woman in black Kristen tries to conceal her jubilation, takes her designer handbag, and waltzes off. Little does she know the girl in the pink will recognize her on this day ... - John is pleased to run into Brady outside, but Brady is on the warpath. He demands to know what kind of game he is playing now! - Nicole enjoys the food and Vargas enjoys watching. He calls her a gorgeous girl he feels comfortable with. Nicole thinks he will be able to meet other people too. He drawls maybe, but if he had not started out here ... She believes he will get a great job soon with his computer skills but he makes it clear he is in no hurry to go anywhere. And now for dessert ... Oh la la!
