Friday, February 4, 2011 up at 5 pm est February 3 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! ALWAYS! - Disheveled Nathan finishes his coffee on a bench, angrily tossing the cover to the ground. Mel joins him and notes he does not look good. He is shaken up, as Jen almost died and it was all his fault, he feels. He gave her Hope's message, which almost got her killed. Mel is of the opinion that sounds more like Hope's fault, not his, so she should be the one who feels guilty. Nath still does not feel better. Mel suddenly gets an idea and takes him by the hand ... - Maggie is at Jen's hospital bedside as she sleeps. Enter Doug and Julie, shocked by what she went through but most grateful for the optimistic prognosis. Later, when the patient is momentarily alone, Nath and Mel enter, and she shows him that Jen is stable. There is nothing to blame himself for anymore. He praises and thanks her. She blushes. He gets paged, but hopes later they can discuss their future. Once he walks out, Mel looks ready to cry. She tells Maggie of Nath's offer to be there for her and the baby when she sees her in the hall. Maggie, however, warns her not to let what feels right slip away ... Mel is soon with Dr. Lexie, who also thanks her for what she did for Jen. Lexie gets back to work. Nath returns, ready for their talk. Mel is not. Nath knows she still has feelings for him and persists. Melanie reluctantly goes off with him to discuss ... Back in Jen's room, Doug suggests he and Maggie go to the gift shop and leave Julie with her. They give them their privacy. Julie laments that Doug says the fair Jennifer is just retreating from the world for a little while. She cries her heart out for her to come back to them. Doug returns with a bouquet of flowers and puts a reassuring arm around her. - At the loft, Will has just finished putting up a Welcome Home Johnny and Happy Birthday Sydney banner. Gabi wonders if they should make Rafe a banner as well. Will thinks he already knows how glad they are. Gabi is so relieved her brother is alright. - In the DiMera basement, EJ smokes a cigar and makes noise until Rafe wakes up, He puffs away, wishes him a good morning, and taunts there is no breakfast. Rafe drawls does he think he will get away with this? Elvis pauses. "Yes, I do." And he wagers Sami is not worried about him either! Rafe assumes Sami was sent a fake message that he checked himself out and has urgent police business. He suspects EJ is presently isolating her in order to charm her. EJ laughs at his theory. He is going ahead with his marriage with Nicole. Rafe deduces then this must be about Johnny and Sydney. Today is her birthday and he is in a DiMera dungeon. "I don't think that's a coincidence." EJ states it is a happy day. Sami has signed the custody agreement and she is throwing a party. Johnny is coming home. Pity he shall miss the shindig! Rafe calls him a son of a bitch and tries to reach him through the bars. EJ steps back and arrogantly laughs. Later, when he is alone, Rafe weakly pulls his key out of the bedpost, goes over in his mind what EJ has told him, and wonders what kind of game his arch enemy is playing ... Upstairs at the mansion, Nicole gets a call from Lexie, who is on duty at the hospital. She and Abe regret they will not be able to make Johnny and Sydney's party. Nicole is disappointed and offers to pick up Theo. Lexie, as it turns out, is with Taylor, who gestures for her not to say anything. Lexie ends the call. Nicole impatiently wonders where on earth EJ is. - In Lexie's office, Taylor explains to Lexie that Nicole presumes she is on a bus, as she had promised. Theo is playing nearby. Lexie does not understand why Nicole does not want her sister around. Taylor points out they had different childhoods. Lexie still thinks she should not be blamed for that. Lexie gets paged. Taylor offer to stay and watch Theo, who is organizing cards. Lexie later comes back to find Taylor playing cards with Theo. She must catch her bus. Theo wants her to stay! She soon returns, however, as there was a big snowstorm in Chicago. Her bus did not even make it to Salem. Lexie and Theo are elated she can spend another night. - At the hospital, Sami approaches faux Rafe, who is signing himself out. He has decided he feels good enough to get the hell out of there. She hugs him and smiles she hates sleeping alone. She plans to take care of him and Johnny, whom she is also bringing home from the hospital today. What a day it will be! Sami soon has Johnny on her lap as she and Rafe discuss the day. Johnny does not think it will be a great day. He looks at faux Rafe. "Because of him!" Faux Rafe makes a strange face. Johnny exclaims he wants him to leave with them too. Rafe nervously laughs and follows Sami and her son as they depart. - Rafe, Sami, and Johnny return home to balloons, Gabi and Will. Gabi hugs faux Rafe, who says little. Sami decides Will is in charge of Johnny, while Gabi must look after Rafe. Will takes Johnny into the next room. Gabi would like Rafe to call their mother. Sami forcefully agrees. Faux Rafe appears to cringe. He cannot do it right now! He worries that mom will be worried that he does not remember stuff, given his concussion. Besides, today is a day for Johnny and Sydney. He will call after the party. Sami gets Gabi to go check on the kids, then starts to discuss with Rafe the possibility of postponing the party until he feels better. He insists he will be fine. People will understand he is still a bit out of it. Sami declares she loves him and gives him a kiss. She suddenly pouts he is not wearing the key and chain she got him for Christmas. Where is it? Rafe replies maybe it was lost at the hospital ... Knock knock knock! Tis EJ, Sydney, and Nicole. Sami greets the guests and the birthday girl. EJ greets faux Rafe. "I didn't know you were home." He uncomfortably clears his throat. Rafe says nothing. EJ asks how he is. "Things are still a little fuzzy." Sami smiles she is happy to have him home regardless. She fusses over Sydney. Nicole is uncomfortable. The party gets underway. Johnny opens a present from EJ - a pair of skates. "Wow!" Nicole now hands Sami a gift. A pretty pink photo album of Sydney's 2 year old photos. She had them professionally done and of course made copies for Sami, who is gracious, but clearly miffed! Rafe drinks beer. Sami snaps she is her mother and should do those things. Rafe interrupts and points out at least the pictures got taken, for Sami has a lot on her mind. Sami agrees and thanks Nicole. EJ observes Rafe. He later thanks Sami for the party. She thanks him for the gift for Syd and is sorry she lost her cool over the photos. EJ now uncertainly hands her cards he got for Sydney and Johnny, which he thinks they should both sign as their parents. They are sitting side by side on the sofa. Sami smiles at the cards and agrees. Meanwhile, Nicole helps herself to a drink and Rafe teases it could be poisoned. Nicole thanks him for sticking up for her when Sami almost bit her head off. She notes Rafe and EJ must have teamed up when Sami wasn't looking and alludes to their new alliance. Faux Rafe probes to finds out what she knows. He then claims he merely convinced Sami to come around for the sake of the kids. Meanwhile, EJ offers to pick up the cake from the bakery, which Sami forgot. Sami gives him the complicated directions. He decides to take Rafe along and invites him. The two fellas head out together. Sami and Rafe kiss before he departs. Sami gushes for him to hurry back. Once alone with Nicole, Sami again apologizes for overreacting about the pictures. Nicole thanks her for signing the custody agreement. She is practically selling her soul to be with those kids. Sami too knows that marrying EJ is indeed like selling your soul. But she is determined to make this situation work. She has two very good reasons. The two women prepare for the impending cake and chat. Sami finds it baffling that EJ and Rafe are out together. Nicole seconds the motion. Sami declares if the guys can make it work, so can they, for the sake of the children ... - Nathan and Mel are seated at the pub. He quickly realizes she would rather not be alone with him. She explains she still wants Phillip to be a part of her child's life. Nath accepts that and points out he wants to be with her and will do whatever makes her happy. Mel is not sure he can handle the situation and notes he also had pursued Stephanie. Nath insists he knows that he and Mel are not a mistake, however. She reminds him she is pregnant. In addition, her father is going through hell and she must deal with Phil as well as Kate. Anyone who wants to be with her will have to be able to deal with it. Nath deduces she does not think he can be that guy. Mel is sorry and excuses herself. Once alone, Nath vows to prove her wrong ... - Back at Jen's hospital room, Maggie tearfully kisses her and says they are waiting for her. Jen opens her eyes, confused. "Am I late for school? Where am I?" Doug, Julie, and Maggie are elated. They are glad to have her back and are not letting her go! - Down at the pier, EJ is most pleased with his flunky's performance. Faux Rafe admits to EJ it has not been easy, as he had but 5 minutes to prepare. EJ explains the accident was too good an opportunity to pass up. He can blame all probs on the concussion. Rafe asks about the key Sami noticed was missing. EJ airily assumes it was just a romantic memento. He praises "Rafe" for his quick thinking when his flunky adds he told Sami the hospital must have lost it, and advises him to just keep being Rafe Hernandez ... - Back at the loft, Nicole wonders why the suddenly distracted Sami has a funny look on her face. She smiles she can feel Rafe, as they have a special connection. Matter of fact, she can feel he is thinking about her right now ... - Alone on the cot in his secret cell, Rafe holds the safe house key. He quietly sends his good wishes to both Sydney and Johnny. He is not sure what Sami believes happened to him "But I hope you know I will always always love you." He sighs and looks at the bars which are keeping him imprisoned, staring into nothingness ... Next on Days of Our Lives Sami informs Nicole "EJ doesn't love you. He never will." "Is there something about Sami that I need to know?" faux Rafe asks EJ. Bo takes Hope's hand over the table. "You and I will face things together!" |
