CELEBRITY NEWS AND GOSSIP DAILY! Updated September 9, 2009 - Link Only After a 2 year hiatus from the CELEBRITY page, DaysCafe is pleased to report we're baaack! Now to the Celebrity Dish ... This one just won't go away! Hugo Chavez graced the Venice Film Festival with his presence to attend the premiere of Oliver Stone's "South of the Border." El presidente walked the red carpet (his fav color!) and was overheard praising Stone as a "good worker." No word yet on whether he gave him a book. Also at the Venice Film Festival was actor Matt Damon, whose movie "The Informant" is about - you guessed it - an informant! This informant flick, however, will be unique. It is blessed with the magic touch of Steven Spielberg. Speaking of Italy, Neapolitan screen siren Sophia Loren recently received a backhanded compliment from actress Penelope Cruz, who reportedly stated she wants to GROW OLD gracefully, just like her. Ouch! Aloha! Hawaiian newspaper Star Bulletin reports that local boy Darin Brooks had to miss a couple of island events in order to attend the Daytime Emmy Awards, where he won the Emmy for outstanding younger actor on a daytime drama - "Days of Our Lives" - and went on to deliver his infamous mega-bleeped speech. Turns out Darin, modestly assuming he would not win, had not prepared a speech and was shaking as he accepted the award. Reality television at its best. Mom Susan Brooks, artist and teacher, watched the broadcast live on TV from her home in Hawaii. "We are just so proud of him." Ditto! Previous Celebrity Gossip ... |
